SIL being "re-baptized" in a Baptist church

I just hate it when people take God’s authority to judge upon themselves…
He also told me that his church has many Baptist in our Catholic Church. He said they act as Catholic and go to Mass on Sunday and teach CCD and other classes, but are Baptist and “help” us see the light.

Sick… when I was in RCIA a former Catholic told me, “I don’t think you’re supposed to BECOME a Catholic… I think God is calling you to attend and bring them OUT!”

I kindly denied this… but I think this kind of thinking is horribly deceptive. I don’t think God would promote this kind of deception. You don’t see the apostles doing this! What makes them think this would be an acceptable method of evangelization?

Oh my goodness, that is infuriating! Especially going after a CCD class! See, this is what makes me furious is people thinking that they have some God given right to interfere with the religion that a parent teaches their child! My MIL has done this several times to my kids, taking them behind my back and telling them it’s “mean to pray to Mary” etc… I would never DREAM of taking my nephew aside and telling him how I feel about his baptist religion!!

It is really, really hard to deal with this kind of people. I guess I don’t have any words of wisdom to offer, just to say that I know what you all are going through. I have a lot of Baptist relations. Some are very nice about it, but there are always the few who make me :mad: :eek: :rolleyes: :mad: !!!

Sounds like you’ve had experience of these people trying to pull you out of your faith! Very un-cool.😦
