As I pumped a couple gallons of gas at a major dealer, news came on that said that Mike Pence had snubbed the Koreans.

If they want to give me the weather or play music fine, otherwise there is a way to shut them off and this articles tells everyone how to do it.

Looks to be second button down from top on right of screen shuts them off?

Thank you. I didn’t realize that there was a way to turn them off. Even if I were interested in the stories they were blaring, chances are that I will miss most of the story - so it would be annoying. And it seems that every restaurant, gas station, car service station, bar, blood donation center etc - all have television screens blaring things that nobody seems to be watching. And since nobody knows if anyone else is watching, nobody wants to change the channel. I find nearly all of them annoying. About the only time I might like this would be if I were going to a sports bar specifically to watch a particular game - otherwise, I would prefer to be interacting with the people I came with (Yes even when I am pumping gas)

I agree. The idiot box has infested everywhere today. I’ve only encountered one gas station with this blaring news at the pump. My solution is to never use that gas station again. I don’t watch the news and don’t want to be assaulted by it.

We gave up cable a few years ago. We do watch movies and some shows on Netflix. When I am subjected to TV with ads or especially the news it makes me extremely agitated. I think no one who wasn’t used to TV would ever want to watch it. It offends your peace of mind and is only possible through steady desensitization.

Thank you so much!! My car runs best on Shell, and they all seem to have this annoyance.
