In the wake of the shooting spree in a Quebec mosque there is going to be a silent walk in my city in support of the Muslim community. It’s going to be held as part of the National Day of Action Against Islamophobia and White Supremacy. The notice says in part
"We gather together, also to acknowledge that racist, Islamophobic, anti-refugee, sexist, homophobic and transphobic policies have come to fruition under the Trump presidency.
Would you go?…We wish to affirm that our province and our country needs to be a place of sanctuary for those fleeing war and political persecution. We walk together to declare that in [this province] we take care of each other, we mourn with each other, we support each other."
