Hello, I’m Lylea and I am new to chat rooms and religion. I asked this question in another thread on this area - non-catholics religion - but I was in the wrong room I think. Here is what I said trying to find out if I could possible understand Islam enough to even begin to study it for conversion. "I’m Lylea, and I’m new to religion, and new to this chat room. I’m orthodox right now but looking around still (even tho i’m 40 ish) But, you being from Indonesia, can you tell me if it is true or not that Mohamud actually married a tiny child and they had relations with her at age 9? I can hardly believe it and I bought a Coran Bible and can’t find it but my friends all say it is true and it is in there. Is it? and if it is how should I look at such a strange and werid thing - perhaps there is a different reason for it to happen or maybe it is just a vicious rumour. Please help, yours, Lylea

Some similarities are only to be expected if you agree with Hilaire Belloc that Islam (Mohammedanism) is one of the five great Catholic heresies.

According to Belloc, it sprang from an oversimplification of the main Catholic doctrines, by a pagan who was not a Catholic and it rose up outside the Church.

Mohammed dropped those doctrines that did not suit him. Most importantly, he denied the Incarnation, the Trinity and the whole sacramental structure. From its roots as a heresy, it developed into a religion on its own.

Belloc gives the real history, indeed. Will a muslim ever read it?
