There is certainly a semblance of selling Masses on this site. I have received appeals from missionary orders with similar (much dearer) “price lists” for Masses – prices, mind you, not recommended donations.
Mass Offering
Dear Friend,
All of our missionaries are Roman Catholic priests. While these men live and work among the poor in some of the most remote corners of the world, each of them is willing to serve the spiritual needs of others as well.
In their daily prayer life, our missionaries gladly remember the needs and intentions of individuals like you - men and women who have written to us asking for prayer.
If you would like to have one of our missionaries remember someone in a Mass for a specific intention, please complete the form below and send it to us electronically. We would kindly suggest $10 per Mass requested.
It is very clear that it is an offering from the page from which one gets to the donation dialog:There is certainly a semblance of selling Masses on this site. Would it not be much better to say, “Thank you for your donation, we will celebrate a Mass for you or your intention (fill out box below)”?
