I prayed the Rosary for the first time just now, and I got just a little confused about the order. I’ll list out what I understand to be the order of the prayers. Please tell me if I have this wrong:

Sign of the cross
Apostle’s Creed
Our Father
Hail Mary (x3)
Glory Be
Our Father
Hail Mary (x10)
Glory Be
(Fatima)
Our Father
Hail Mary (x10)
Glory Be
(Fatima)
Our Father
Hail Mary (x10)
Glory Be
(Fatima)
Our Father
Hail Mary (x10)
Glory Be
(Fatima)
Hail Holy Queen
Rosary Prayer
Intentions of the Holy Father (Is this supposed to be said even when one is praying alone?)
Sign of the cross

If I messed something up slightly, does that somehow “invalidate” the prayer or anything?

You’ve got four decades there - it’s actually five (so another Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, Glory Be and Fatima Prayer should be added) but otherwise it’s correct.

And there’s nothing about the form of prayer that is magical - it won’t be invalidated if you mix things up a little, especially if you’re still learning how to pray the Rosary! And remember all prayer is pleasing to God regardless of its form.

What LilyM said is correct. Also, you can pray for the intentions of the Holy Father while praying alone or with others.
