Simple Question to Non-Catholic Christians

I certainly have not heard many of us say that. But when you speak about groups that you are attempting to lump together that in reality are thousands of divergent groups, you cannot expect a common answer. Do Libertarians and Socialists, both politicial parties, and both not Republicans, agree? No one expects them to.😉
I am sure there are non-Catholic Christians and liberal Catholics who would tell you “no”…I think:) 🙂

🙂 well there is one absolute thing all of us agree on and it this JESUS CHRIST IS LORD,AND SAVIOR.

This whole thread seems to hint that Protestants have to have something that Catholics and all the variations of it do not have either.
Almost all of our denominations or churches have an authority. The underlying question behind the question is what authority.
But harder is when you agree that other groups have the authority but think they missed the boat on some things:blush:

Orthodox may not be Protestant, but it is not in communion with the Catholic Church. It may look more like the Church, but it’s not it. What it believes holds nothing over the Catholic Church. Prostestant churches claim to agree on the essentials, but they all have their own essentials. You’re acting as if Orthodoxy is the same as Catholic and they don’t agree but they do on the essentials and it’s okay, they don’t and it’s not. With the Church there are no “essentials”, there’s just the Church. Orthodox or Protestant, you’re still not in union with the Church. Make sense?

And why should any of the HAVE to agree? Because Jesus said He was starting a Church, a visible Church, a city on a hill, a pillar of truth, and that Satan would not prevail against it’s gates. So, really, if you’re going along with what the Bible says, one of these Churches has to be that Church, and while everyone else is Christian b/c they believe in Jesus, everyone else is not the true Church.
