Why does one need an authority to proclaim the truth as one sees it?Yes, but other Protestants think differently and think that you’re wrong. Since all Protestants are relying on the Bible alone, by what authority do you say that they’re wrong, and you’re right? Just curious.
Why does the existence of differing views call into question the truth of my view?
Let’s argue it on the evidence. I’m OK with the fact that people look at the same evidence and come to different conclusions. That’s what it means to be a fallible person living in a confusing, broken world. To me there are far more serious things in the world than sincere doctrinal error.
