Hi Everyone,
I know that someone in mortal sin should get to confession as soon as possible. I’m pretty sure i need to go to confession but i just went to confession two days ago(i asked someone to drive me) and before that it had only been three days. I’m wondering if i should ask the person to drive me again, or if it would be ok to go on Friday. i’m scrupulous so this causing me a lot of anxiety. Would it more prudent to go on Friday? part of me totally wants to go to confession sooner, but then i don’t really want to ask the person to take me again:( I guess i’m a little bit not sure if i’m in mortal sin, but i feel like it’s too close to judge that it isn’t.

Thanks!

If you think you might suffer from scrupulosity, I would encourage you to have a regular Confessor (i.e. go to the same priest every time) and let him know of this. He would be in the best position to advise you as to how often you should be confessing and what constitutes a mortal sin.

If it was really a mortal sin, you would not be asking us.

You know that it is your scrupulosity.

God knows you suffer from this OCD as well.

He knows your heart.

If by chance you died with this “not sure if I’m in mortal sin” on your soul, God is all mercy and all just.

You are dealing with an illness and He understands.

It takes Trust in God to offer this up and not go to confession now. Let go of placing it on you to run quickly to the confessional for a “not sure” if it is a mortal sin. Let God cover you with His love right now where you are - not in the confessional.

Tell us what will happen if you do not go to confession now.

May God give you the grace and courage to seek help for your sufferings with scrupulosity.
