I don’t know if this means anything but why do I see that more men than women abstaining from receiving Communion, regardless of whether it’s an NO Mass or a Traditional Latin Mass?

Or is it just me?

You certainly implied it, Fruedian slip as it were.

The truely funny thing is you are attempting to apply the beliefs of evangelical protestants on the entire Christian world even though compared to the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches evangelical protestantism is a tiny sect within Christianity. Yet if I pulled up some quote by some asinine radical feminist you’d be going off your rocker with how unfair that was.

I think you mean “There are.” At any rate, your interpretation of Scripture is your own and I place no value on it. The vast majority of the world’s Christians do not believe every social instruction St. Paul wrote to the early Church applies in letter today. As for St. Paul’s “keep your women quite in Church” remark he was referring to socializing during the Liturgy. That one does still apply.
Feminism is a sexist ideology, so again all your comments come down to is “the Bible is bad because it doesn’t promote my form of sexism.”
I’m not a feminist…I’m a man I was just bringing up some of the anti-woman things in the bible, its as simple as that.

AGAIN I’m not a feminist in fact I despise feminists in many cases.

The bible is very clearly sexist to woman in many cases its not just my interpretation. “My form of sexism?” again I’m a man I’m a gay man matter of fact which is pretty much as far from “feminist” as you can get. I just believe woman should have equal rights just as african americans or gays should have equal rights.

Edit: O and sorry for the long wait for a response, I was pulling weeds.

actually i think that the bible is much harder on men then women. afterall, no punishment is described for women who aren’t silent or don’t follow their hubby’s authority. but if a man isn’t honoring his wife, his prayers are hindered. oh my goodenss, this would terrify me if i was a married man.

I’m not too sure on that. Either way I don’t care about what the bible says (at all) since theres many things in the bible saying I should be put to death.
  • Exodus 35:2 – " For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."
(Darn I shouldn’t of pulled weeds today 😛 )

Ooo and my all time favorite bible verse:
  • Leviticus 20:13 – “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

it makes it rather difficult to discuss the issue with us if you suddenly announce that you don’t care anyway what the bible says.😦 why even start a subject about the bible if you aren’t going to listen to our replies.

you would get better answers to some of the subjects that you bring up if you started new threads. there are probably people who are looking for threads on the subjects that you have mentioned and would be happy to discuss this with you.🙂

this thread is really supposed to be about if men or women have the harder time with sin.

Yes I’m quite sorry I did go off topic and that was wrong of me. Usually I don’t make threads (lately) because most people just insult me in them or go off topic (eg: I ask about legal issues with gay marriage and forum members start quoting bible scripture to how homosexuality is immoral and start saying how I’m sinful etc)

i apologize if anyone here on this forum has insulted you. that was wrong.

Actually all I’ve seen you do is pass off a very ignorant interpretation of sacred Scripture as fact. You needn’t be a woman to be a feminist.

I fail to see how, one group is largely comprised of women (feminstist movement) and the other is a group that wants desperately to be women. As such being a homosexual would hardly disqualify you from being a feminist, if anything it might make you more radical.🤷
I just believe woman should have equal rights just as african americans or gays should have equal rights.
It’s simply crass to compare your sexual fetishes with people’s gender or race.

You know nothing about homosexuality, it isn’t a fetish and I don’t “want to be a woman” I’m a man thats simply attracted to men just as your attracted to the opposite gender. I would NEVER wish to be a woman ever. And what disqualifies me from being a feminist? I already told you I’m not. And all I did previously was quoted bible scripture how in FSM’s name does that make me a feminist?

And you call me ignorant?

Back to the original question… are men more sinful? Well, sometimes when I was married I was sure Satan was passed down through the Y chromosome. But I have also seen many good and heroic men. You can’t make generalizations. The population is 50/50 about. What you can see is that men’s sins sometimes have more far-reaching consequences, just by nature of their strength. If a woman hits someone in the head once, she’s guilty of assault. If a man hits someone in the head once, he could be guilty of manslaughter. His blow has a greater chance of killing.

I think women tend to tame men. And when women are virtuous, men are more likely to be also. So I think when women in a society lose their virtue, they drag the men down with them. I think our full prisons are a testimony to the values that mothers didn’t instill in their sons. So guilt can be spread around.

I also think that women’s sins are different. It isn’t 45 million men and counting in the USA alone who have had their pre-born infants scraped out of their wombs. In that respect, I don’t think any woman can say with a straight face in this day and age that men are more sinful than women.

I think we’re all in this together. Sin has social consequences. Eve’s sin quickly became Adam’s. And their sons kind of kept the family tradition going.

God isn’t a Roman legalist, and he’s not running a court room.🤷

1.Then it would be illogical to assume for her that money is a factor.
2.I’ll say it again, when people are marrying for money they are fully aware of their motives. I really tend to doubt that a 20 something marrying a 50 year old is even trying to kid herself about the motives. Most men in these arrangments are equally aware of the how’s and why’s of the situation. I personally tend to think of it less as a marriage and more as a long term prostitution contract, but it’s really none of my affair.
I DO NOT agree. My uncle is a poor man, with two very mentally and physically disabled children. He lives with them in a tiny, little apartment in a bad neighborhood. He is seventy, his wife is thirty. He met his wife when she was the nurse for his children who are both wheelchair bound, cannot feed themselves and are in their fortys. They just got married and are hopelessly in love. If you just look into their eyes you would know. The way they dance, the way they look at each other. The way that they kiss and hug, and go running together. A huge age difference? Yes. “long term prostitution” NO. Love is love, and they are a man and a woman who are in love.
