How does one overcome this? Is just being aware of it and not meaning anything bad by it enough to take it out of the sin category or at least the mortal sin category.

I just can’t seem to help it. I am just really enjoying watching everyone else stressed out while I have everything memorized and am confident I am going to ace the exams and get to relax during exam time while everyone else studies frantically. I am very fortunate that school just comes easy to me and always has and while the semester and the stress of school is nightmare for me during the semester, I absolutely love exam time when the hard work pays off. The problem is I dislike other things about my life so therefore I really like to enjoy and take pride in the one thing I really like about myself and feel happy like I do during exam time and the vast majority of the time when I get my grades. (I do get a B once in a while).

I just don’t really think my attitude is the nicest of ones. Although I am more than willing to help people understand the topics and help them prepare for the exams, and I hope I increased the scores for a couple students by helping them, I feel I give off an arrogant impression that this is just easy and don’t appreciate how some people really work hard and struggle. I really am thankful to God for my talents even if I am upset over other issues in my life but I don’t want to continue to give off this impression of being arrogant and potentially having the sin of pride.

I think the sin is when you boldly confess to others your better then they are. In my profession (Private Jet Pilot) I have been told the same thing. Rarely, by (people who dont know me) But I think there is a line between arrogance, pride and healthy self confidince and assertiveness which show it’s self in my love of my job. I do take pride in my work.

There is healthy pride I feel. Even more healthy if you get to fall on your face sometime and learn from it. I have…and still do. I dont have all the answers but I can find them!

Helping other in your class my show others around you an act of humility. This may be your opportunity to really “Ace” the class.👍

Hope that helps!
