Sin or not a sin

i need information , I have this beautiful place that i go in the woods all by myself to pray and be alone and talk to my Jesus.I built a big Cross and put it up there on a hill and i built a small altar and when i go there i bring my bible and pray ,i did this in memory of Jesus who died for my sins ,I do not pray to the cross or the altar its there just to remind people who see it not to forget our Lord Jesus who died for us it serves as a memorial .Is this a sin or not ,i still go to mass every Sunday ,this is just a beautiful place by a brook that i love to go to:

In and of itself, it is not a sin, and if you are a sincere Catholic, it is obvious you wouldn’t be praying or worshiping the wooden cross or the alter. Some people set up small alters in their home. So, no sin on that front.

However, my question would be as to the land you build this on. Is it owned by you or someone you know? Or is it public land? If it is neither of these, then you should probably seek permission to keep in up. You may even need permission for public land, but I don’t know.
