Singer "Prince" has died

RIP.

So many talented musicians and actors have died this year already.
 
Sad to see him gone at such a young age and under what appears to be such mundane circumstances.

By all accounts, he was a good guy to everyone he met. As a major pop idol, he easily could have went the other way, but he chose to live a quiet, religious and caring life in a pop world run amuck.

Great artist, showman, dancer, musician and song writer and he was also an underrated guitar hero to. If he had chosen to go that route, he could have been one of the best rock guitarists of all time.

Eric Clapton was once asked what it was like to be the greatest guitar player ever, and he responded, “I don’t know, ask Prince”…

Coincidently, one of Prince’s main female singers, Vanity, also died this year at 57 years of age.

I’m saddened.

I understand he was very reserved and shy.

I also remember he had a baby that died shortly after birth. 😦
 
I will miss Prince. I enjoy his music. He was a Tallented man and wrote a lot of hits for other artists.

He once told Sinead oconner off. That puts him up there with joe Pesci in my book.
 
I really enjoyed his music too, and am really very saddened by this news. He was so very talented. 😦

I read that in TMZ.

Last week he was hospitalized for the flu supposedly. After that he performed at a concert, which is strenuous even in good health.

I read on TMZ that it wasn’t the flu but a opiate overdose, and he left the hospital earlier than he should have.

I wish they’d wait for the autopsy report though.

Poor man.
 
Interesting post.

I only caught the latter (90s onwards) part of Prince’s career, but he was certainly a great talent.

My son (aged 10 months) seems to enjoy his song “Gold”, or maybe it was just because I was playing air guitar along with it. 🙂

And my wife asked me, “Who’s this Prince guy?” 😉

RIP Prince, you will be missed. 😦
 
I’m sorry he died. He was talented. Obviously many people loved his music.

At the same time, his music doesn’t speak to me. I just never cared that much for it.

I know people like myself got offended bc Bruce Springsteen didn’t go to NC bc of the restroom law.

While I was watching the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild game earlier today, the broadcaster mentioned that Springsteen opened his show last night with Purple Rain. I had forgotten about that comment. 2 hours later I go to youtube and see the video.

I clicked on it and I have to say as a man, even though I didn’t agree with what Bruce said in regards to NC, him and I don’t see eye to eye, but his cover to Purple Rain was amazing.
 
The man was one of the most incredible musical artists of all time and an incredible individual with his generosity to causes he cared about. Prayers for his soul and that he finds solace in God’s arms and with his son.
 
I was reading that Purple Rain is considered to be the song of all times. Prince said, that in his opinion his best song was, “When Doves Cry”.

That’s talent, when the song that was voted as the best ever, is not even that artist best song.
 
I was not a Prince fan although some of the later music was good. I do think he was very talented and could play many instruments as well as write songs. I saw an old interview of him on Tavis Smiley’s show and he came across as very intelligent sand thoughtful and without the ego that many popular musicians seem to have.
