Singing in California churches banned

I agree re: state of music in the Church-- but it is getting better (at least, in my parish). However-- for those of us who did sing in choir but now cannot, it is a hardship; and if people are masking and occupying every other pew, would singing really spread the virus? I would like a scientific response to this. It seems to me that a mask would contain the “aerosol”. Not that many Catholics sing at Mass, anyway .

And not just elderly family members: I am elderly and technically, shouldn’t be attending church. But I have to-- at least, on occasion. I haven’t felt that well recently, so have stayed away. But it feels discriminatory. I actually was afraid of being arrested the first weekend the churches opened in my area. I laughingly said something to one of the priests (who is also elderly); he “got it”.

We left California a long time ago amid an increasing amount of discriminatory nonsense.

There’s a war on religion, and this is part of it.

I’ll probably bet flagged, but Gavin Newsom is a jerk. My opinion, and I have a right to it.
