Singing in Church about unapproved apparition

This morning at Mass we had a “reflection song” after Communion. It was Daniel O’Donnell’s “Sweet Queen of Peace”.

Nice song but I’m not really comfortable singing about an apparition that Rome has not approved and which the Bishop in whose diocese it supposedly occurred says it’s not valid.

Am I just nit-picking?
 
A song like that would seem to violate the guideline: “U.S. clergy and laity not to participate in any meetings, conferences or public celebrations in which the authenticity of the Medjugorje apparitions are taken for granted”.

I would speak to the pastor, in some parishes the music leader slips in songs that the pastor has never heard of let alone approved.

I didn’t sing since I’d never heard the song and no lyrics were provided but I would think that having the choir sing it is no more appropriate.

We are not in the US so that letter is not binding on us. I can find nothing promulgated by the CCCB on the topic.
 
Is the song to Our Lady under the title, “Our Lady of Peace?” or is it about how she appeared at Medjugorje?:
 
I used to attend a parish called 'Our Lady of Peace '. There was no connection to Medugorje

No you are not nit-picking. The song is specifically about the apparition, not just a song about Mary under the title Queen of Peace (which is a legitimate title).
 
I’m in Canada, not Ireland, and my parish is in fact called “Our Lady Queen of Peace”. That may be why the song was chosen.

That said I know that there are a number of people in my parish who have devotion to Medjugorje and I also know that if I bring up the topic with the choir I’m going to receive the usual response: “I’m sure God doesn’t mind.”
