What was the name of the sinner at the Cross?
I think you are referring to St. Dismas, the Good Thief. His name is not recorded in the canonical gospels, but may be found in an apocryphal text known as the Gospel of Nicodemus.

I’m confused (easy to do!) - how is ‘California’ named after Dismas?
It’s a city in California called San Dimas that is named after him, not the state! 😃 Saint Dismas in Spanish is San Dimas, like San Diego is Saint James.

Greetings DaveBj,

I saw this thread and thought go and post my name as well. Found out someone else had the same thinking.

Wretched sinners think alike. 🙂

God Bless.
