Sometimes a “uniform” makes all the difference…
True story. One of our habit-wearing Sisters absolutely loved baseball and was a huge San Francisco Giants fan. She was invited to a World Series Game with a parish family. Before the game started, some guys sitting in front of Sister started in with, " I suppose we have to watch our language now" and “Are you counting how many beers we’re having Sister?”, “Gee, now we can’t have any fun”, etc., etc… They were a bit annoyed. Sister had a great sense of humor and was giving it right back to the guys. The game was just about ready to begin and suddenly…

The Loma Prieta Earthquake hit, the whole stadium was shaking! People were screaming and crying. And what did the guys do who had been giving Sister a hard time??? They were scared to death and turned to her and pleaded with her to pray for them and wanted her to hold their hands. People all around her were asking her to pray for them and wanted the comfort of being near someone/something religious. Hopefully nothing bad happens at the concerts but, IMHO, the Sisters should wear their habit.

If the people sitting behind have an objection that their view is blocked, perhaps the the courteous thing to do would be to offer to let them sit in front instead of asking the nun to remove her attire.
