Could you please take a look at the following article and share with us your
opinion. It is regarding the 1993 and 1999 meetings of Cardinal Vidal with Sister
Lucia? Especially the quote:​

Sister Lucia said: “Fatima is still in its Third Day. We are now in the post
Consecration period. The First Day was the apparition period. The Second was
the post apparition, pre-Consecration period. The Fatima Week has not yet ended.”

Through Her appearance in Fatima, which has been declared as actual, factual and true, the Mother of GOD has made a simple request for a small amount of prayer time on the first saturday of each month and when I attend I see maybe 10 - 20 of the same people each time.

Perhaps it is the request to attend confession in conjunction with that prayer time which is keeping away the church? Perhaps it is because the parish priests do not make mention of it regulary or teach and preach upon it? But how will you answer if JESUS asks you what you did every First Saturday in lieu of responding to HIS Mothers request? And then HE will ask you if before HE judges you, would you like the grace and mercy of HIS Mother upon you, but oh yeah, you ignored that favor which was offered every First Saturday of every month of your adult life - so I guess not.

You are correct. It seems that Sister Lucia is saying that the plan of God in Fatima is unfolding according to seven eras or periods of time,and she did not expect to live to see that last four periods.

Maybe that is why Pope Benedict XVI in his recent pilgrimage to Fatima proclaimed, ***“We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete.” *** *

The question is, what key events could mark each of these four remaining perionds? Maybe it is not for us to know yet, but to trust.

“May the seven years which separate us from the centenary of the apparitions hasten the fulfillment of the prophecy of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity”.

Is that to mean the period will be over in or around 2017?

Anything could be possible. The Fatima Shrine in Portugal is prepared to celebrate each one of the next seven years until 2017 in a very special way.

What I have learned while studying the Fatima event is that Our Lady has been sent by God to lead her children back to Him, and she leads us by informing us of her battle plan at Fatima on a ***“need-to-know-basis.” *** (If we knew too much it would be counterproductive… let’s not forget that *the enemy *would do anything to find out Our Lady’s plan too. If we, imperfect creatures knew, he would know it too.)

That is why the three children could not reveal her heavenly secrets before the proper time. By giving them secrets she was teaching all of us too. She was teaching us to ***trust ***in her loving heavenly plan even if we ignore all the details. *Like a little child trusts his/her Mother! *

Well, I think Benedict said the messages of Fatima and Akita were one and the same.

At the time Akita occurred, the Cold War was still at its height, and the nuclear armouries were at an all time high. While there has been a considerable reduction since, there is still enough to completely destroy civilisation several times over. Even since the end of the Cold War, there has not been peace - Russia has been in wars with Chechnya and Georgia, and the US and the West has been involved in Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Libya, all Moslem nations, which should make it plain where the next battle will lie.

Since Fatima and Akita both carry grim warnings, I wonder if she was intimating that a lot of trouble was coming.

Unless we increase our devotion to her it seems. One of the main points of contact between the Catholic Church and the Moslems is Mary.

Overall though, I’m afraid this is the first time I’ve ever heard of the Fatima week. I just take the warnings at their face value, just as I do with Akita, which I personally think was emphasised by the earthquake, tsunami and resulting nuclear hazard in Japan.

So I’m afraid this one goes in my too hard basket.

That is very powerful. I do not know if you are familiar with the devotion. In case you are not, here is a summary.

"I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the First Saturday of five successive months, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.”

The elements of this devotion, therefore, consist in the following four points, all of which must be offered in reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. One should make this intention before carrying out Our Lady’s requests. A renewal of the actual intention at the time is best; however, if such an intention is made now, it will fulfill the requirements if, for instance, the actual intention is forgotten at the time of confession.

Confession: This confession can be made before the First Saturday or afterward, provided that Holy Communion be received in the state of grace. In 1926, Christ in a vision explained to Lucia that this confession could be made a week before or even more, and that it should be offered in reparation.

Holy Communion: Before receiving Holy Communion, it is likewise necessary to offer it in reparation to Our Lady. Our Lord told Lucia in 1930, “This Communion will be accepted on the following Sunday for just reasons, if my priests allow it so.” So if work or school, sickness, or another just reason prevents the Communion on a First Saturday, with this permission it may be received the following Sunday. If Communion is transferred, any or all of the other acts of the devotion may also be performed on Sunday if the person so desires.

Rosary: The Rosary is a vocal prayer said while meditating upon the mysteries of Our Lord’s life and Passion and Our Lady’s life. To comply with the request of our Blessed Mother, it must be offered in reparation and said properly while meditating.

**15-minute meditation: **Also offered in reparation, the meditation may embrace one or more mysteries; it may include all, taken together or separately. This meditation should be the richest of any meditation, because Our Lady promised to be present when she said “…those who keep me company…”

Since Fatima and Akita both carry grim warnings, I wonder if she was intimating that a lot of trouble was coming.

Unless we increase our devotion to her it seems. One of the main points of contact between the Catholic Church and the Moslems is Mary.

I can read your concern, Yes, both messages did carry grim warnings. But I would like to remind you that Fatima also carried some amazing promises…

**“I Shall return here yet a seventh time.”

'In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph."**

Let’s hope that the Triumph of Our Lady is at the closing of this "seven day week."

Let’s remember that 2017 will also mark **a hundred years **from the date in which Satan personally attacked the unfolding of world history through the person of his diabolical agent Rasputin, who discredited the Russian Czar’s family thus triggering the unfolding of the bloody events that led to the forming of the Soviet Union.

Our Lady’s arrival in Fatima in 1917 does seem like an loving attempt from Heaven to counteract the evil effects of Satan’s evil plans through Rasputin a hundred years ago! Only Heaven knows!!

Maybe this is why in his 2010 visit to Fatima, Pope Benedict XVI during his homily extended an amazing invitation to the faithful: “Another seven years and you will return here to celebrate the Centennial of the first visit of the Lady “from Heaven”, Who came as a Teacher Who leads the little seers to the intimate knowledge of the Trinitarian Love and to savor God Himself as the most beautiful thing in the existence of man. (…) May the seven years separating us from the Centennial of the Apparitions hurry up the announced triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the greater glory of the Most Holy Trinity" (Fatima 1917 - 2017)

I haven’t seen any mention of Our Lady’s request for the Pope in communion with all the Bishops to dedicate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart which would bring world peace. Why was this request not answered?
