Hi question about a charity, not sure where to post this?

for the last several years Ive received a donation appeal from Covenant House in Vancouver. I guess there are other locations. It seems to be a good program working with youth on the street.

on their site they say they encourage the kids to go back to their own faith community.

What Im wondering about is the letter comes from Sister Patricia A Cruise S.C. who is the president.

So is she catholic? also, Im wondering, just because someones a Sister does that make them catholic? Or are they something else?? (why I posted here)

And if anyone knows about this if they have any info that would be nice.

🙂

You ask a very reasonable question. Some Protestants adopt the title to indicate their religious character.

In Sr. Patricia A. Cruise’s case, she is indeed Catholic. The initials “S.C.” after her name is for her order - the Sisters of Charity.

Here is a brief biography of Sr. Tricia.

oh thanks Dale

I will send them a chq. I have for several Christmas’s. But now I know you guys I thought Id check out if she checked out. Looks like a good lady, done alot.

If she was misrespresenting herself I would not have given.

I guess there are other Covenent Houses and seem to be a good help. There, consider it a plug
