I am sixty five years old as is my wife. I suffer from multiple sclerosis. A consequence of this, in my case, is that I am impotent! Since my wife has passed the change of life there is no chance that she could become pregnant.
I would be capable of performing oral sex, and my wife would be agreeable. What I wish to know would this be sinful in this case? It is not something that would be likely to happen very often.

You should certainly seek counsel from your priest and your doctor.

Yes, sexual activity such as you propose-- that does not include intercourse-- is a violation of the Sixth Commandment. You would be called to continence in this situation.

Every sexual act, regardless of age or physical infirmity, must be open to life.

You and your wife may think that you’re impotent and she’s past the age of menopause and not capable of having children any more. God, however, may think different, and it’s HIS will that is to be done in your lives. A couple of Biblical cases come to mind, such as Abraham and Sarah, Hannah (Samuel’s mother) and Zachary and Elizabeth
