Loving God,

We lift our continuing prayers and intentions for the healing and welfare of your son Jim. Lord, we ask for blessings and healing to be with Jim in the face of this recent health challenge, in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Please bless him and his family as they continue their journey of faith and serve you, O Lord. Thank you also for the good works Jim does with others facing the huge trial and challenge of cancer in their lives. Lord, we especially appreciate the prayerful example that Jim sets for us, and for his outreach to others who are suffering.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your people.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

UPDATE:

Last week, my ankles suddenly swelled and I developed a rash over my arms, back and legs. After consulting with nurses, two physician’s assistants and a doctor, we simply don’t know what caused my immune system to react. In any event, I am back on Prednisone for the first time in almost 5 years in an attempt to relieve it before my next treatment. I had a series of CT scans for cancer activity today and I will probably find out Thursday how they look. Of course, I know that I am under prayer and that God is in charge of all things, so in that I take my comfort.

deliver us from every danger.
