**Well he went to return it and the lady tried to tell him ‘it’s not what you think it is, there are rumors going around that simply aren’t true.’’ He tried to explain to her that we researched it and read it ourselves on the manufacturer’s very own website. She then rambled on to my husband ‘well your wife needs to take better care of her skin!’ What?? She basically told me the skin care I use is junk (when I was there the first time in June) and then she tells my husband I need to take better care of my skin? Just because I didn’t want her dead- baby- skin- cell face cream (sorry that’s honestly what it is, may as well call it like it is, right?), my face cream that I already have is junk??

She tried to say a lot of things but he told her ‘no, we don’t agree w/ this and we will not support this product line by purchasing it.’ She tried to say that it’s ‘from the foreskin, not an aborted baby’. Um ok, then why does it state ‘medically terminated’ if the baby isn’t aborted?? Along w/ the blog that I posted earlier in this thread that discusses this very same skincare line. Some people really do think we’re stupid. **

I find this thread very interesting, again, thanks for posting it, mamacita. What is so scary, is where do we go from here? It reminds me of the book, Frankenstein or something…this is beyond unethical…and it’s all because of the ‘lie’ of abortion. Unlike what they say, there is nothing ethical about it. I wonder if the people selling it just don’t know…but I imagine some do know, and don’t care…just like Planned Parenthood. Killing babies before they are born is a BUSINESS. And it shows me that other ‘businesses’ are going to capitalize on the destruction of fetuses. I guess I shouldn’t say I can’t believe it, but I am sadly shocked.

If I were you, I’d write a letter to the spa manager and/or owner telling them about your experience and explaining that you will not be returning as long as they are selling that product. You might have enough influence for them to stop carrying it. If they don’t comply, I would consider writing to the local newspaper about it.

Sharon, I have no idea where we go from here. Makes me afraid to buy anything that is not ‘all natural’ but not all that stuff works for my face, either. Did you read that Les Femmes blog that I posted earlier? The top of her posting on it made it sound like this is NOT unusual. (to have beauty products contain this)

The thing is, this lady knew darn well because when she was bragging about it she said all this stuff to me about how research found that ‘fetuses’ in utero do not scar when they do surgeries on them, so then this cream was developed w/ that idea. So…to me that says that she’s either in denial herself or that she knows what it is but thinks it’s A-ok. I just really want to warn others to stay away from this stuff, regardless of how ‘great the results can be.’ The advertising on the Neocutis website (if you go to the products and click on ‘journee’) states that it can turn back aging w/ in 7 days. That’s the sort of stuff that entices women to say, ‘oh, that sounds great.’ Reminds me of the devil holding something in front of you and saying ‘come and get it.’ kwim??**

**Well yes, I’ve honestly been sick all day over this. I hope I can overcome it, esp. since I’m helping host a bridal shower tomorrow night.

Unfortunately, the lady my husband just dealt w/ is the owner, he really didn’t get anywhere w/ her. He got our money back but that’s about all the further. They kept saying 'it’s not what you think it is." Whatever! Then why would the company website say what it does if it’s not that?? So…maybe the newspaper is the next step. I think the Catholic newspapers are very important as well to do a write up on this sort of stuff…people are so much more concerned w/ skincare these days, so imagine how many could potentially be buying this stuff (or even a different brand/variation of it) ?**

Oh my, mamacita, WOW I am so upset for you right now!! I can’t IMAGINE how you must feel first of all having that stuff put on you basically without your consent and THEN to find out what’s in it and have your concern treated like hysteria!!! I’m just, wow, I’d be so angry…I’m so sorry this happened to you!! I think it’s commendable what you did in sticking to your guns and taking it back. You know what, I think they DO count on people being stupid or better yet ignorant and just plain uninterested in what is in products. Not to go on a rant but look at so many things we consume; food, clothing, etc, and how it’s made is so often so unethical!! It’s just maddening. I’d honestly go with you to this place and be mad right along with you if I could.

I second what truly said about shea butter, it’s awesome at healing. My daughter had the worst scar, DEEP scar from a cut she got by her eye when she was a toddler and it was getting more and more noticeable. We mixed raw shea, tad of cocoa butter and wheat germ oil (very high vit E) and she put it on daily for…oh I dunno, awhile, it just became part of her nightly routine, and it’s truly amazing how it’s softened and smoothed out the scar and made it just blend in with her skin better. Still there if you really look, but not at all noticeable at a glance. It’s worth a try!

We used the cocoa butter stuff from the store (Palmer’s maybe? it’s in a big round tub), but it honestly didn’t help fade it. It’s a scar that’s about an inch long from end to end, from her getting stitches.

I forgot to mention something else. I emailed one of my cousin’s last night about my situation. She’s 22 yrs old and lives about 10 states away from where I live. She called me tonight and said that after reading my email she woke up during the middle of the night from nightmares of having dead babies smeared on her face. So sorry I told her the story now. I hope I don’t give anyone else nightmares by my sharing this. **

If you did not open it or use it, go back and ask very nicely for a refund and state you have moral reasons for objecting to the product.
How will they stop pushing the product if no one has the nerve to tell them specifically why they do not want it?
They want your business. You are in the unique position in this economy to make demands from service providers that are not exactly consisdered essential to survival.
I would also ask to speak to the owner, and explain your concerns to him/her.
You can not be the only christian that would object to this in your area.
You can help them to market products that work just as well if not better by having a dialouge and polite exchange with the owner. You can do this, because clearly you are a consumer that is educated on the product, and know you have alternatives.
Let them know that.
I wish you the best, because maybe this scarring is a burden, but the ultimate way you can go with this is to make things better for people just like you.

I wish you well in this. I agree it is reprehensible.

The important things to look for are the words “unrefined” and/or “raw” when buying the butters. Shea butter should be natural and unrefined, and cocoa butter should be natural and raw. You don’t want anything “refined” or “deodorized” because the process of refining/deodorizing strips the butters of their healing properties, and they become practically useless. Obtain the butters by themselves, in their natural states, not mixed with anything… So, no “Shea creams” or anything like that, because you risk purchasing refined Shea butter, and you really don’t need all the other chemicals and junk they put into that kind of stuff. Shea butter has a shelf life of like 2 years if you keep it cool, so you really don’t need all the preservatives.

Oh, and Shanny, that wheat germ oil sounds great, thank you!!! My daughter has a scar on her forehead that plain old Vitamin E didn’t quite do a good enough job with. I’m thinking that there’s something in the wheat germ oil that makes the Vit. E more bioavailable.

**So just to confirm what I already knew I emailed Neocutis. I received a reply from the CEO about where these ‘cells’ came from exactly. The reply I received did state that yes, this baby was ‘medically terminated’. He stated that the 'baby would not survive to term" but later stated that ‘the mother’s life was at risk.’ To me, he was trying to justify his products. We are not God, and should not ‘play’ God. :nope:

Also, I know from reading about vaccines extensively that when aborted stem cells are used in vaccines it’s a ‘planned’ procedure since the stem cells have to be taken at a specific time during the abortion. So, therefore this baby was aborted for these skin care products specifically. He said that after that, they created a ‘cell bank’ and keep reusing the same cell line. Still not ok. So now, what I thought all along, is finally confirmed in writing.

I feel like forwarding this email from the CEO onto the spa I went to since the lady boldfaced lied and said it was from ‘foreskin from a circumcision’. She didn’t hear any such thing from that company I’m sure…because if he told the spas that then why would he tell me the truth? The terms ‘medically terminated’ should tell that esthetician something! DUH! If she did NOT know where the cells came from, then she should have said, “I don’t know” instead of outright lying. She was just trying to sell her products.**
