Skincare for a pre teen

It depends… I am a girly girl even now.
And i have daughters too.There are other lessons in body maintenance and hygiene and lessons of the dignity that comes of being a girl should come before makeup.

These things are natural progression. Lessons in how to shave legs and taking dd’s for eyebrow shaping( maybe in 7th grade,)deodorant, and things like this come first. How never to color hair except for lemon juice, and when they are older salon color only–less is is more.11 is just a child, and should continue to have the freedom to be one. I was at the pool the other day and an young girl would not swim because her mascara would run, how sad is that! She was about 12.It is freakish to me to see young girls with makeup as it reminds me of the show toddlers in tiaras. No class whatsoever imho.

She should use a waterproof mascara! Jk
I tend to feel sorry for them sometimes. As someone who used to wear foundation, mascara and lipstick at 14 years onward to school, reapplying it secretly in the bathroom cubicle and pretending to be sick during PE so my makeup won’t slide off. All of this just so I could look better, I can relate and I just feel sad for them. But of course, others just like to play around and have fun with it. Makeup is something girly and they like to feel that way sometimes.

I try not to judge, especially if they are young girls. They might look like clowns, but at least they feel confident/pretty, even if it’s not the best way to feel that.

My mom had the same opinion as you, but it only made me play with her bobbi brown makeup even more

she’s more into foundation and tinted moisturizers and blush because she sees me wearing it (hell no!) but powder for oil control seems the safest IMO.

She does enjoy masks, it’s our “bonding activity” (yay)

Just curious, how old do you think girls should wear makeup? I was 13 when I secretly wore makeup to school (a catholic girls school too :doh2: )

I started wearing make-up in middle school. So sixth grade. I was eleven. I lived in a fairly well to do school district so I was not early by any stretch.
