I love these kinds of games. I just picked this up, but havent played it yet.

I usually wind up being a good guy too. Then when I go through it a second time I go bad.

I enjoy the Fable games as well.

Jharek, I think he’s referring to the Namira daedric quest where you sacrifice the priest of Arkay for the cannibal feast. I must admit that one did unsettle me a bit, especially when some of the coven are citizens of Markath that you deal with. I ended up saving the priest by wiping out the coven, plus I used Mephala’s ebony blade which powered it up a few levels in the process - two birds, one stone. 😉

I must admit though, this is the best the Daedric quests have ever been in an Elder Scrolls game. For once, you really do have to evil, despicable things to get the powerful items; with the exception of the ‘good’ aligned Daedric quests of course.

Did anybody else find that when they bought their house in Windhelm, the murder scenes haven’t been cleaned up?

According to the UESP Wiki, cleaning up the murder scenes is one of the house upgrades which needs to be purchased. The Wiki warns that a bug exists. The cleaning upgrade needs to be bought before the living room upgrade or else the cleaning upgrade will disappear from your choices.

(Caution, the UESP Wiki contains extensive spoilers. Do not click on the link if you want to be surprised by the game.)

I haven’t brought myself to do anything really bad yet, except steal like a madman. 😉

There was a bug in the ps3 version of the game that the windhelm house couldn’t be cleaned. Thats one of the bugs that was fixed with the new patch.

For me, though I want to get the game, I have some qualms about giving support to/buying a game that allows for gay marriage especially given the modern climate. They are not particularly strong qualms, and there are certainly worse games out there on this matter that give more direct support to supporting homosexual activity, but it still gives me a bit of pause.

Has anyone else in the game gotten married? My charactor just did. I wound up choosing Farkas from the companions. He was kinda hot for a video game charactor;)

I married the demure dark elf at the college. She’s nice, makes me dinner when I want. gives me money. All in all a good choice, doesn’t seem to give me a discount on my stuff though. . . . . .

I believe they are just there for scenery reasons. I wonder what the DLC will be though. . . . . . .
My wife is SO sick of me playing this game.

Now I am holding my breath for Mass Effect 3 . . . . … . . 🙂

My female Breton chose the priestess of Dibella.

I thought Molag Bal’s quest really emphasized the fact that one of his titles is Lord of Domination (but it sucked because I was trying to be a good character), but I really liked the quests involving Hircine, Sanguine, Clavicus Vile, and Sheogorath.

The Dark Brotherhood line can be very fun if you are playing a female character due to how you can role play some later quests. When I was as a female character I put a number of Dibella statues up in the Whiterun house, but then I later did a quest in Riften and I didn’t like Dibella either after i found out about her other side (go to the inn run by that woman and talk to the cleaning girl to start the quest).

Dibella has an evil side? What Inn? Are you referring to the Bannermare Inn in Whiterun, where Redguard noble has assassins after her?

My favourite has been the Nocturnal quest and becoming a Nightingale. Still haven’t been called up to defend the sanctum though…

I’ve yet to marry; hadn’t realised you could until recently. I’m deciding between Aelia the Huntress and Ysolda.

The new patch (v1.4) hasn’t fixed my bug with relation to cleaning up the murder scene for my Windhelm house.

Ooo I might have to remember to go with the Dark Brotherhood quests then.

At the moment I’ve just joined the Imperial Army (my character is an Imperial) but I need to go back and do some of my miscellaneous quests before they start clogging up. I haven’t been playing very long, less than a week, but I love it.

Kotaku recently had a story up the other day about the lead designer giving the team a week to come up with cool new content that may or may not be included as DLC. From memory I think there was a giant mudcrab boss, something about having a later stage of vampirism that allows you to fly and look like some form of bat-beast and there was simulated fluid movement for rivers (and possibly ocean shoreline). There is more and they put up a video displaying this content.

As for an expansion, I guess they’ll do another Oblivion plane like the Shivering Isles, as the world map is already rather large. Logically it follows that it’ll be a Daedric Prince who hasn’t had their time in the spotlight yet. So far we’ve had Azura, Hircine, Mehrunes Dagon and Sheogorath front and centre over the last two games. Nocturnal features rather prominently in this game, so I guess that leaves the others…

I think the reference is to Helga. She runs a…bunkhouse…for men. (There’s a small quest associated with the girl who cleans the place for her.) Let me put it this way, if you want lovey-dovey types of quests, Mara’s temple is a good place, Dibella is a bit more…carnal. 🙂

I’m a bit dissappointed. I will indulge in a game here and there if it’s really good. My nephews told me how great this game was. It’s basically a suped up version of Baldurs Gate. If anyone remembers that old game…

It’s not bad, but in my opinion not the great new break through Ii was told it was.

This exactly.

PS Balder’s Gate FTW, those were the days.

You have to go to the steward and purchase the clean up. Just a word of warning, the chest in the main room that has blood on it, if you have anything important in it you’ll want to move them before the cleanup. The ches disapears after the clean up.

I used to think so as well, then I took an arrow in the knee.
