any zelda fans here? I got skyward sword for the wii on release day and so far it’s a blast! The motion control is really neat and smooth works very well in the zelda universe. Some people complained about the graphics but I like them personnaly skyloft looks great and very colorful:)

You are crazy.
Do you think this is the right place?

I picked it up with the golden Wiimote Plus, but I’m having a hard time dragging myself away from Skyrim to play it. I love the artistic style they went with, but something about the way my TV is processing the non-HD signal is looking really unfortunate… turning the sharpness setting all the way down removed some of the most horrendous aliasing, but I do find it distracting at times.

Gameplay always trumps graphics of course, and good art direction trumps hyper-realism, but I really hope the WiiU delivers Nintendo’s amazing artistry in the format it deserves.

I really want to get it, but I’m waiting till after finals. It’ll be too much of a temptation. I’ve heard it’s excellent though - even an improvement over Twilight Princess (which was amazing, in my opinion, even if the motion controls weren’t perfect).
Question though - is it possible in this game to make Link left-handed? The one time it actually matters, they mirror the game to make him a righty (in TP, at least).

no I dont think so for SS. And I have TP for gamecube as i see it as a gamecube game (production started on the gamecube). Skyward Sword is thee Zelda for the wii sorry for my nerdy rant 😃

seems like more people are into skyrim since that thread has more posts

Huh? Am I missing something? Is there something wrong with the game?
Sorry, I forgot to ask what the game was all about ! A game here, I thought it weord as I find all PC games. But if you think it is all right, sorry for the post…

I picked up the golden remote edition on release date (thank you for the Christmas gift, Mom & Dad ;)). I will post back after Christmas when I actually get to open it and play it! The temptation is huge but family life tends to focus my mind on other things which makes it a tad easier to postpone my wish fulfillment. 😛

I am very excited to play the game. IGN gave it a perfect 10.0. I have been a huge Zelda fan since “Link to the Past” (I never got into the NES original…it confused my developing mind :p). I’ve never been disappointed since.

yes!, the one on snes a link to the past is probably my fav in the series next to ocarina of time. Skyward Sword also comes with a orchestrial cd which is awesome btw

As a nontechnical person I’ve heard of Zelda as a game but nothing about it to lead me to believe there was anything wrong with it. I leave gaming and games to those who like and understand them…to me they just put me to sleep.

YES. I like it though think Skyloft with the birds seems a bit Avatar-y…

I love the way you have to actually do the correct slashes on the sword now, no more flailing! I’m actually finding this about 10x harder than TP. Even the first boss was crazy hard. Where are you up to?

For me it was a tossup between Super Mario 3D Land and this, I had the cash for both, but I don’t like playing more than one game at a time. In the end I’m glad I picked Super Mario 3D Land… it’s a brilliant game. Kind of a remake of Super Mario Bros 3 meets New SMB meets Mario 64/Galaxy. Graphics are spectacular for a portable game.

Zelda can wait till probably Christmas for me…

i got all 3 goddess flames im like 35 hours into the game. I don’t find the game hard at all though I admit the first boss took me a few tries but maybe because I wasn’t used to the motion controls or had to figure him out.

Is it worth my 60 bucks and ignoring my friends and family for the 200 hours I’ll put into it? 😃

I thought that OOT is the greatest game ever-Zelda or not. It hasn’t been the same since that one, but Twilight Princess was quite good.

It’s only $50. 🙂

I still haven’t played my copy yet, but I have high hopes based on the reviews. IGN said it give OoT a run for its money as the best Zelda game ever. Even if they’re being a bit hyperbolic, that’s still pretty strong praise.

I hope to get it for Christmas, but I think Mario Kart 7 and the 3DS Sonic Generations may come first.

goddess flames arent the hardest to find though, its those darn ‘easy’ ornamental skulls I lack…

I’m in the desert temple situation atm, taking a break to actually do my studies but I’ll be back on the wagon come January 😉
