How is this verse explained?
Exodus 21:20-21 “And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.”
And this verse:
Ephesians 6:5 (New International Version) Slaves and Masters 5. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
And why did Jesus not condemn or change slavery?
1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”
