I know many people who agree with you, but I don’t mind. He doesn’t make unreasonable demands. We can’t get married yet, but we consider ourselves engaged. If he feels strongly that sleeping nude goes against modesty, and I think it’s more comfortable on occasion, I have no problem with changing my sleeping habits for him. In the same way, he consults me on decisions about his future (soon to be our future, although not yet) and neither of us puts ourselves in compromising positions with the opposite sex.The idea that a boyfriend could presume to tell his girlfriend what to wear to bed just has me shaking my head.
I agree with Latin Mass Lover - I love this man because he has high standards and morals. If that means I need to change the way I live, so be it. One of my good friends told me that when you find the one you want to marry, you’ll know because suddenly you’ll want to change all those bad habits you swore you’d never give up. Not that sleeping nude is such a bad habit, but it’s all a matter of perspective.I think it’s GREAT that a man is telling a woman to be modest. He has standards, AMEN! Besides, she said there were no curtains for the windows…
If I had spare sheets, I’d do that, but sheets are hard to find here. I don’t think the windows are an issue - mine is the tallest building around, and I’m on the second-to-top floor, but I suppose it’s possible someone could catch a very brief glimse if they were looking up at exactly the right moment. To each his own. I’d pin a sheet to the window.
LOL -Please don’t laugh, this is embarrassing enough. I thought of posting this in the MORAL forum, but I want traditional responses.
Is it morally wrong for a single person who lives alone to sleep naked? Explanations backing your opinion are desired. Thanks.
Unless I am mistaken, Adam and Eve were naked initally. We are born naked. So why would God be offended if someone were to sleep naked? After all, if someone wasn’t naked at one time or another, most of us wouldn’t be here. What would be the point of sleeping naked? I can see no point in it at all. And no, I don’t think it appropriate. It is immodest as well as undignified. Out of respect for God, one should be properly clothed at all times.
EGHADS! The point of sleeping nude is that IT IS COMFORTABLE AND WARM. GOD MADE US NAKED, he doesn’t care if we sleep naked as long as we don’t make it an occasion of sin. Same here. And I stopped buying pjs for my kids when they were in their teens and I realized that there were never any pjs in the laundry hamper – nor on their floors so they obviously not wearing any.EGHADS! No, sleeping nude is not a sin, not immoral, not in any way wrong as long as you have a private room and your curtains are closed. When I was 16 I started sleeping in the buff and continue that practice until today. The only time I do NOT is when I have VICKS on my chest or sleep at someone elses house.
If you’re sleeping naked alone and are “caused to sin”, you have issues. If you are sleeping with someone naked, it better be your spouse. In which case, naked is good.Sure, God made us naked, but approaching the question from that angle alone does serious disservice to the fact of the Fall. As my earlier posts show, I hold that the only thing wrong with sleeping in the buff would be occasion to sin, so please take my criticism on this point as a constructive one meant to further more fruitful argumentation on the subject.

Well sure, we all have “issues” of some sort or another. Some “issues” are just facilitated by sleeping in the nude. Just because you don’t have a problem with it doesn’t make it a problem with some. Some might have a problem with gluttony and sleeping with a fridge in the room might facilitate that! What is a temptation for one might not be a temptation for another.

Well, I’m assuming it wouldn’t be funny for the person who has a problem with that sort of thing. Pick the sin you have most trouble with and look at what might be an occasion of sin for you. It might be different but it’s very real to you even though it might not apply to me at all.I’m sorry. But I think the whole thing’s funny.

You are a woman, right? And you are talking about your hair, right?I always tie it to the side, when I wake up I have the sexiest black/brown waves, hehehehe. It also saves me from having to brush it and thus making it frizz out. yuck.
LOL, that is what I was thinking; what if there was a fire!I can’t pretend to be a moral authority on sleepwear, but I can’t imagine there is even a moral side to this at all. You are single, you live alone, there is no reason to say you would be immoral to sleep naked. It’s not like you are in a position to be a cause of temptation to someone else in the house.
Has someone told you otherwise?
My only caution is this: I had a friend who was more comfortable sleeping naked until there was a fire in her apartment building and she had to exit her bedroom window, down a firetruck ladder, with only a sheet wrapped around her.
She now sleeps fully clothed and ready for such emergencies, a little extreme, but I can’t say I blame her.![]()
What else would I be referring to?You are a woman, right? And you are talking about your hair, right?
My opinion is that it’s not wrong…Please don’t laugh, this is embarrassing enough. I thought of posting this in the MORAL forum, but I want traditional responses.

If it’s an unbearably hot night and your electric fan/air conditioner isn’t working, you might be more comfortable sleeping naked. What would be the point of sleeping naked?
