Good afternoon

Can someone help me with the relics of this church? When I was younger, 20 years ago, I saw a vial of blood on the left hand altar as you look at the main altar. What relic is that? Is it still on display? Does anyone have a link or photo they could share? I had a friend visit the Church and the folks giving the tour had no idea what she was talking about. Maybe I am the one who has no idea what I am talking about but I am sure I saw this on a visit. Any help or links would be appreciated.

I have no idea, since I am nowhere near there, but I was intrigues and looked it up online. What a GORGEOUS church! WOW! They sure know how to build them up there! WOW.
Lovely. I read their “About us” section on the webpage, and it was great reading. Thanks!

I would have to say it is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever been in. I think it is better then the Cathedral in St. Paul. I read the history and it was well written except it left out the relics. :(. Thank you for your response.

Thanks for the thread. I do not know but I will try to find out.🙂

The school has a FaceBook page:

facebook.com/sesmschool

Perhaps if you have a FB account, you might ask there?

Good luck. It sounds like an interesting mystery. I hope you succeed in getting some informative replies.

I never thought of that, guess it is time to use facebook. If I find anything I will post it here.

Thank you for the help, got an answer today and I was wrong it was actually a bone fragments of St. Therese of Lisieux, here is the note I received.

"I work in the maintenance department at St. Mary’s Parish, and am also a parish historian. To answer your question: none of the relics that we have in the church are blood. The relics we do have, aside from the ones in the altar stones in the high altar and side altars, are bone fragments from the bodies of St. Therese of Lisieux (this is probably the relic you recall seeing) and St. Anthony of Padua, and also a sliver of wood from the True Cross. "

It is pretty cool that they have a piece of The Cross.

Oh… oh my. She is my patron Saint. How nice to hear that you received an answer through a suggestion I made. This makes me humbly happy. :o Thank you very much for posting again.
