Smoking in Front of the Church After Mass

Because guess what folks those that are on the bandwagon to get rid of all the smoking once that is done it will be something you like or enjoy next that goes on the list to get rid of. Soft drinks and snack foods are already under fire how long till they try to ban Ho-Ho’s and Pepsi?

Pepsi, Ho-Hos and junk food don’t have any impact on my health when they’re consumed by someone else. Cigarette smoke does.

In MN we have Freedom to Breathe:

Smoking-prohibited areas
Effective October 1, 2007, smoking is prohibited in virtually all indoor public places and indoor places of employment, including:
 Bars, restaurants, and private clubs
 Office and industrial workplaces
 Retail stores
 Common areas of rental apartment
buildings, hotels and motels
 Public transportation, including taxis
 Work vehicles, if more than one person is present
Home offices with one or more on-site employees, or used as a place to meet or deal with customers – during work hours
 Public and private educational facilities
 Auditoriums, arenas and meeting rooms
 Day care premises
 Health care facilities and clinics

In addition, most places of business do not allow smokers to gather near the entrance doors. They often have their outdoor smoking areas to the side or at the back of the building. Bars have outside patios. The days of the “smoking” and “non-smoking” sections of restaurants in MN are long gone - as are smoke-filled bars. I like it! 👍

I’m sure one will still be able to enjoy Ho-Ho’s and Pepsi within the comforts of their own homes just like smokers can still enjoy a cigarette in their own home.

PA also had the ban on smoking in public places and restaurants. THANK GOD.

Me too. We have basically the same rules in Florida. I’m pretty sure most states have these now.
 
Odd how this thread was started about ones opinion about smoking in front of Church to a very stimulating conversation about addiction.
Most who smoke I think are addicted. In my time of smoking I met two of those lucky individuals that could turn smoking on and off like a light. The rest of us just smoked. And I can tell you it was a tough vice to finally break.

Yes it wondul when goverment can make decission about weather a private business can allow the use oof a legal product in there place of business.

I for one am glad that Indiana has not followed this authoritairian abuse of power.

It’s not odd at all. You can’t talk about smoking either in front of church or elsewhere without talking about smoking as an addiction.
