Anyone find it strange the high ranking Eastern Orthodox Bishops use a crozier that has 2 intertwined snakes on it? This is this virtually the same staff used by Hermès, medieval alchemists and Thulsa snake cults which worship serpent wisdom.
The same staff symbol can be found on all ambulances and let’s remember why it’s becuase the Snake promised the gift of immortality to Eve in the garden in the form of granted wisdom. I once saw a bishop on Easter Sunday with one of those and it didn’t seem Christian looking at all.

No, I don’t find it strange at all. And by the way why did you post this in Eastern Catholicism?

No, that’s not why the caduceus is associated with medicine, either. And the association is actually incorrect as it should be the rod of Asclepius and not the caduceus.

Wiki sorts that out.

Because it’s associated with Eastern Catholicism/Orthodoxy. It’s pretty much in the right place.

Your giving me technicalities here. I find the Staff of Hermes and Medicinal Rod virtually one and the same.

Not to be picky, but Eastern Catholicsm and Orthodoxy are different. They tend to be confused on CAF a lot.

Not technicalities. The caduceus is improperly associated with medicine. Do you read links or do you just jump on them indiscriminately first?

I’ve been to a Greek Catholic Church. Their services are almost identical to traditional Eastern Orthodox. If you can describe the difference in their Divine Liturgy I would greatly appreciate it.

Why is this in the Eastern Catholicism category?

EDIT: I see that this has been asked already

I think the snake staff can be seen as a sign of regeneration or perpetual healing in Christ. But, hey, what do I know?
