Definitely troubling. Anyone associated with Bernardin should be scrutinized. Maybe someone could ask Kicanas whether he knew Frank Pellegrini? Just a thought.

I have not found SNAP to be fair, balanced or dependable. They tend to take every accusation, every suspicion and every association as gospel. They seem more interested in pay-offs than healing. But then that is just my impression based on their history. But hey, at least they get to bankrupt churches. Maybe we need a priests survivor group for those who have survived SNAP.

AMEN!!! Here in Cincinnati, they have become nothing but “witch hunters”-- for lack of a better term. While there were legitimate cases, there were A LOT of false accusations – one included my own priest, who later died from the stress of the investigation.

I grew up as a neighbor to the very seminary Kicanas used to run. There were a LOT of sleazy goings-on and coverups both at that institution and within the Chicago archdiocese, many of them quite recent. If SNAP fires its weapons a bit too freely, remember that the Church, especially it’s leaders, gave them the ammo and plenty of legitimate targets.
