*Not sure where to place this thread, hope this is okay to put in this section.

I was wondering if anyone watches SNL with Fr Groeschel? I caught the entire show tonight, and it’s wonderful as always. I thought it was very interesting, the explanation of the Creed’s origination. I used to be a faithful viewer, but sometimes, get busy…forget to record it. It’s one of my fave ‘shows’ on EWTN.

Just thought I’d see if others find this show to be as enlightening as me. :o*

What’s it about?

I don’t get EWTN, but sorely wish I did!! What an incredible channel!

It’s hard to follow along when you don’t know it’s about a specific topic on a particular week. (The EWTN web site doesn’t always list it.) I have tried to watch Sunday Night Live, but every time I try to watch it, it’s difficult to follow along, because there doesn’t seem to be a re-cap of ‘here’s what we talked about last week’ or whatnot. The other EWTN shows (like “Life on The Rock” and “EWTN Live”) are basically ‘stand-alone’ shows. You don’t have to watch it every week to understand what’s going on…

To me, SNL means Saturday Night Live, and I was having a really good time imagining Fr. Groeschel on that while my page loaded.😃

Me too. But to answer WG’s question, even when I got EWTN I didn’t watch it because it fell right during the dinner hour and DVRs weren’t common when we did pay for tv.

I watch Sunday Night Live with Fr. Groeschel every week, if possible.

Fr. Groeschel usually starts the program telling the viewers what the program will be about the following week. He sometimes does a series of shows (like the Creed). Sometimes because of travel he will have Fr. Apostoli fill-in for him.

For those who are not aware, Fr. Groeschel suffered a stroke some weeks back and sometimes he has some difficulty with certain words. He used to mention this during his programs, but now he seldom mentions it. He has little mobility with his right arm due to being hit by an automobile a few years ago, this is why he gives his blessing at the end of the program with his left hand.

I may have heard incorrectly but I think you can watch EWTN porgramming from their website.

You can but you need really fast internet in order to do that. It is far from ideal. I do get to listen to him occassionally on the radio though as his program is simulcast on the radio.

If you have iTunes on your computer, you can subscribe to podcasts of some of the ewtn shows (it’s just the audio). Try a search for “ewtn” in the iTunes store. It’s free, it’s good quality since you can just wait to listen to it when its done downloading instead of streaming it over the internet, and you can listen to the shows any time at your convenience. I can use headphones at work, so sometimes ewtn podcasts help me get through tedious projects. 🙂

:rotfl: I know, whenever I see that too, I think of the Saturday night live show…ha! Totally different shows, indeed…polar opposites, I’d say! 😃
