I went to confession and after confession i realised the priest was taking a nap! He did give me absolution but was i forgiven? I felt so guilty recieving communion.
 
Supposing I had commited adultery, would I have still been forgiven?
 
If he gave you absolution and you were repentant, you’re forgiven. If priests in mortal sin can (validly but not licitly) absolve sins, then snoozing priests most certainly can. No need to be concerned. Go and sin no more 🙂

If I had an embarrassing sin to confess, I’d consider a gift from God that Father slept through it but was awakened in time to absolve me! :rotfl:

I don’t think it is accurate to say he was taking a nap (which implies intent to sleep), but he just may have nodded off. Those boxes can get hot and often there isn’t much room to move around a little and keep the circulation going. It sometimes happens that the priest might nod off a little, especially elderly priests. Don’t worry about it.

I’ve seen happen the other way too, when an elderly penitent waiting in the confessional for her turn to confess fell asleep.

We should all be so fortunate!!! 😃 I suppose for as often as folks have fallen asleep during homilies, we ought to cut our poor priests some slack.

Seriously, though, you confessed in good faith, the priest absolved you, I think you’re in the clear!

but seriously of course you were forgiven you were contrite and received absolution so you’re good to go
 
While the priest may have been snoozing, God wasn’t, and He heard your Confession, and woke the priest up in time to give you absolution! So you are forgiven. Now, doesn’t that make you feel better?🙂
