LOLI must be a stick-in-the-mud. This is too Oedipal for me.
But then I’m a guy.

Or Captain Underpants book series!I can picture the whole thing and know I wouldn’t have been able to hold the laugh in myself.
The thing I like most about the story of my uncle is that it was about 72 years ago, way before boys had Bart or even Our Gang, to copy!
Sorry about that…he is a nice kid!Wow I hope my son comes back to the “land of nice” someday like yours!
LOL

Aren’t there great books for kids now? All I had was Nancy Drew and the Bobsey Twins(not that I haven’t reread a few of my nieces Nancy Drew booksOr Captain Underpants book series!
They are a RIOT!!!
Boy humor all the way!!!
Karen
p.s. Of course, I haven’t read my sons book titled
“The Day My Butt Went Physcho Yet” but I am sure it is cute!!!
I do remember Nancy Drew.Aren’t there great books for kids now? All I had was Nancy Drew and the Bobsey Twins(not that I haven’t reread a few of my nieces Nancy Drew books)
You put a smile on my face with that one!!!Has there ever been a little boy who didn’t tell his mom that when he grows up he wants to marry her? Both of mine did (but they were real little). I think it’s hysterical how he told you you were a strange mom. Mine say this all the time to me, and they say it as a term of endearment.
They grow up soooooo fast.
I think I’m about 10 years older then you, Judy Blume was one of older nieces favorites. The Stuart Little book is alot more “real life” then the movies, although I think the movies were done really well. I remember reading the Judy Blume books when I was in my 20’s(stole em off my nieceI do remember Nancy Drew.
My sister loved her and the Hardy Boys.
I loved Judy Blume.
Y/know…
“Are you there God…it’s me, Margaret”
and
"“Blubber”.
My sons teacher read “Tales of a fourth grade nothing”
to them in fourth grade, of course.
But my favorite book growing up was “Stuart Little”.
The adventures he went on…so fun.
And I loved the fact that he only needed one single drop of gas for his car and he could go everywhere.
All those cross county trips.
Very entertaining!!!
Hey, this is fun!!!
Karen
Been there done that… just know it won’t last. Amazing how they change after they get through the puberty thing!!!Sorry about that…he is a nice kid!
He was just having one of those “preteen moments” that I am sure you all can appreciate!!!’
LOL

What an awesome daughter you have!!!OMGosh… I remember Judy Blume books! And Nancy Drew and Bobsey Twins… I am sooooo old!
More about kids… Just got back from the March for Life (awesome time) but it really reminded me how much I appreciate my kids. I got great girls to chaparone, but one of the teachers got all the “princess” girls, including the gf of my bosses son. It so made me appreciate my own kids!!! My son thought the Survivor 73 tee shirt was awesome that I bought him. My daughter was so much fun to be around, and she made some really nice friends. We had one little tiff about her hanging out with a girl I don’t care for. I pulled her aside and told her I didn’t want her hanging with this girl because she whined and complained about everything. She said, “mom she is crying because the only reason she came was to hang out with XXXX (the princesses) and they totally ditched her and she is hurt”. I gave her the choice of going back and comforting the girl and then being grounded or not hanging out with her and no punishment. She chose to be grounded because she felt this girl really needed a friend. I disagreed and told her I didn’t think this girl knew how to be a friend. DD took it upon herself to try to teach her about being a friend. OK, she is still grounded but I am so proud of her for the reasons for making that choice!!!
I hear ya!!!Been there done that… just know it won’t last. Amazing how they change after they get through the puberty thing!!!
No, Hubby was born that year… Son was born in 1989.What an awesome daughter you have!!!
I have taught my son to be compassionate as well.
I do see this beautiful characteristic in him here and there.
In spite of his “preteenness”!
And I like that “Survivor 73” t-shirt you got your son.
Is that the year he was born?
I don’t know so I’m gonna ask.
Take care…
Karen
Ditto, but then I’m a gal.I must be a stick-in-the-mud. This is too Oedipal for me.
But then I’m a guy.
Awesome shirt!!!No, Hubby was born that year… Son was born in 1989.
On the back it says:
“Since 1973 1/3 of my generation has been slaughtered by abortion at the rate of 4000 babies per day. My friends…My classmates…My generation compromised by the selfishness of others. As a survivor I will not let future generations be slaughtered in the name of convenience. I will not be silent. I will not forget. I will not compromise.”
He actually wore it to school today… I am waiting to see if they call me and make him change his shirt.
Well, it’s 4pm here and he didn’t call me… I will take it as a good sign. I told him if they tell him to turn his shirt inside out or to go home an dchange he is toAwesome shirt!!!
You will have to let me know if the school called or not!
There’s always that “zero tolerance policy”, y’know?
Like the kindegartner who is expelled for kissing his classmate!!!
Karen
p.s. that actually happened!
He said alot of kids read it but nobody had a bad comment at all. But then… He is a 17 yo, 200lb, 6’0" boy… would you?Did he tell you if anyone commented on the shirt? I think it’s great that he was brave enough to wear it!!!
