I would encourage you to go to Mass not looking for abuses everywhere. If people are talking, tune them out. If there are liturgical dancers with ribbons and felt banners, ignore them. The Mass is still the Mass. It is still a participation in the heavenly liturgy. Jesus is still there in the Eucharist.

I understand the desire for silence. I am an introvert and I love silent, prayerful moments during Mass. But when I am tempted to being distracted by others, I always think of St. Therese of Lisieux. When one of her fellow sisters would be mindlessly tapping her rosary on the pew during prayer, rather than allowing herself to get annoyed, she would tell herself that the tapping was a beautiful song of praise to God. So if people are talking or if they are singing a hymn that grates on your nerves, offer it up as a sweet song of praise to the Lord. Return your focus to God, and do not pay attention to the “noise”.

This side of eternity, the Church will always contain sinners and always be in need of reformation. That’s no reason to leave Her. That’s why we need to stay and always be about serving others.

Your reaction of laying in bed for three hours staring at the wall and falling into depression seems extreme, to be honest, and it suggests that you actually have something else going on beyond whatever concerns you have with a Church
That was the reason I felt that way. It had been building up, all the things I had seen, all the irreverences during mass, the warmth Jesus stopped giving me (making me believe it was all placebo effect), I don’t really think it is depression so much anymore but a crisis of faith. What I wanted to build my life on now seems impossible. I go here looking for answers, but have received answers based on assumptions in a part of my post not really related to my concerns, as if I am not mentally fit to think what I think.

Can you imagine the frustration I am going through? It is an hour away to a reverent mass (I often go to the one near me but he often breaks the rubric rules so I really wish I didn’t) An hour away to adoration, no one willing to listen to my concerns. I don’t have a license, and no one in my household will take me because even though they are Catholic, they are mostly Catholic by name.
The only begotten Son and Word of God assumed the incarnation for all those at the masses that you find irreverent, and for others: all sinners.

Mark 2
15 And it came to pass, that as he sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat down together with Jesus and his disciples. For they were many, who also followed him. 16 And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with publicans and sinners, said to his disciples: Why doth your master eat and drink with publicans and sinners? 17 Jesus hearing this, saith to them:
They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. For I came not to call the just, but sinners.

He’s still an Eastern Orthodox. He is still concerned the Catholic Church is on a path in diluting its beliefs.

Not exactly sure what you liked about that article. I certainly won’t miss that persons attitudes!

The devil has gotten the best of you in the
struggle of life!! His tactics leave you feeling
powerless, isolated and self-pitying. Let God,
the Omnipotent Father’s three powerful helpers
assist you!! The first is your guardian angel, who
was given to you at birth, this angel has been
assigned to you by God to lead you and guide
you and protect you so that you can reach heav-
en!! Second is the Holy Spirit, He comforts us
in our daily struggles and empowers us to live
godly in this present evil age so that Christ’s
life can be lived out thru us and our witness can
be an inspiration to other believers. Thirdly is the
Word of God, the Scriptures, they assist us as
we walk the talk of Christianity, they help us to
fight against temptations as Jesus did when
tempted 40 days in the wilderness(Matt. 4) I
find that memorizing them and repeating them
in prayer greatly empowers my praying.
GBY.
