So I’m catholic and bisexual and I’ve had a boyfriend for a few years now, and a few months ago I proposed to him. Me and him plan on getting married sometime in the near future and I was wondering if A priest would be able to marry us. And if not would a marriage outside the church still be considered holy matrimony?

Then no, a priest cannot marry you. Marriage between members of the same sex is not possible according to Catholic teaching. This also answers your second question. No, being married outside the Church to a same sex partner is not a sacramental marriage.

Woman here. I have same sex attraction too and straight. If this is a legit post consider studying what Christ’s Church teaches about sex and marriage.

I honestly would have thought that the Church teaching on this would be well known by now

You reallyyyyyy need to learn Church teaching, this is very basic stuff. If you were to get married by the state, it wouldn’t even be considered a CIVIL marriage in the Church, let alone a sacramental one.

You must decide if you are going to define yourself by the Faith delivered to the saints and the bodily nature which you were actually given by Almighty God (“Catholic” and “male”), or by your desires and emotions (“bisexual”). One choice will fulfill you a much longer time and in a much more profound way than the other.

So what would be the purpose of this? Is the intention to avoid all sexual excitement with this person? Only a male and female joined in matrimony can engage in sexual union, maintaining both procreative and unitive purposes.

I have SSA and am male. I guess the reason for it is that I
have a PORN addiction which I am getting treatment
for. I need to feel needed and the Lesbian culture is’nt
helping!!
If you’re a male with SSA, where do the lesbians come in? 🤔

sadly it IS. the Culture of DEATH is VERY real and
dangerous to the unfortunate souls trapped by it
See Prov. 9:14-18

If you’re a male you can either marry a female, become a priest or monk, or live a generous single life.

Peace.

. . . . Holy Matrimony can only occur between a male and a female, that is the long time well established natural law. Repent from your sins brother and try to live a holy and pleasing life for God.

I fell into the trap of looking at females making out and
the more I looked, the more I came to the conclusion
that females HAVE MORE fun as lesbians and don’t
need males to have a good time!!
…ok. But how does that mean you have same sex attraction as a male? Presumably a gay man would find looking at depictions of lesbians completely unappealing.

This entire thread is 🍌.

I suspect glam and jaxonwelch are sock puppet accounts of each other

… LOL. I’d say some young trolls had nothing better to do.
I vote no.

Nobody seems to know for certain why some people are straight and others are gay or bisexual. However, I don’t think that anyone believes that it is caused by addiction to porn. What also doesn’t make sense is that you say that you view lesbian porn. I know quite a few gay men, and I get the impression that the one thing that definitely does not turn them on is lesbians.

You need to feel needed by… a man? a woman? The proportion of women who are lesbians is actually very small. Again, nobody really knows, but some people think it’s as few as 1%. If you cannot find yourself a woman, it’s not the lesbians who are to blame. I also have no idea what you mean by “the lesbian culture”. You make it sound as if lesbians were taking over the world.

Isn’t that a thing that straight men do?
I came to the conclusion
that females HAVE MORE fun as lesbians
That’s ridiculous. A woman is only going to have more fun as a lesbian if she is a lesbian. Not being one, I’ve never tried it out. I can’t imagine I’d enjoy it.
and don’t
need males to have a good time!!
I understand that this is a reason why some men have an issue with lesbians (quite separately from the religious aspects of the issue). Apparently some men just can’t cope with the idea of there being women who don’t need men.

Note: I appreciate that this is a Catholic forum and that first and foremost Catholics will be morally opposed to lesbianism because of Church teachings. I am not commenting on that aspect, as I am not qualified to do so. However, what I say here stands irrespective of teachings derived from Catholicism.
