I would tend to think that many members of the gay community “use” Catholic charities and hospitals. Probably the Church loves them more than they are willing to concede. The church has helped out many destitute members of the gay community in the past. Having said that, the RCC and her parishes do have a say in saying who gets married in the RCC.
Marriage is not a right. It is a priviledge. If our government wants to go into the church business and start offering baptisms, that doesn’t mean that they are valid. The same with marriages.
