There are double readings to think about today.

I was wondering when most people think Jesus received the
Holy Spirit. I thought He was born with It, He was one with the
Spirit before He was born, and knew He was the Son of God by
at least 12 years old. However, in a book I am reading, the
priest says he believes that Jesus received the Holy Spirit at
His baptism.

Maybe about 5 or 6 things struck me about todays readings,
but this is the big one.

What struck you about today’s readings?:bible1:

Today during the homily he said that the baptism is when Jesus’ sonship was revealed to Jesus. I was like, huh?

The way I understood what was said was that Jesus did not know he was the Son of God until his baptism. That sounded incorrect to me. Could someone clarify?

???

How about when He was in the temple as a child, telling Mary she should have known He was in his Father’s house?

Maybe the Priest meant revealed to John, & misspoke ???

That’s what I was thinking. English is not his first language and sometimes he phrases things awkwardly. When I hear things like that I just start wondering if I know what I think I know-LOL.
