The end of the first reading says that when something becomes
obsolete, it just gets older, until it is close to disappearing.
I wonder how many people feel like this? Does anyone feel
obsolete, like they are just getting older until they finally
disappear? A Christian is never obsolete, and even in death
they speak loudly: Jesus is Lord!

In the gospel, Jesus goes up the mountain, and summoned
those He wanted to see. He appointed them. I wonder how
many people were waiting at the bottom of the mountain? Was
it like a beauty paegent where everyone hoped to be chosen?
How did the people feel who “lost”?
And the “winners” were given power to preach and cast out
spirits. Why weren’t they given the power to heal at this time?

So what struck you about today’s readings?:bible1:

“Listen to me…you who have been carried since birth,
whom I have carried since the time you were born.
In your old age, I shall still be the same,
when your hair is grey, I shall support you.
I have already done so, I have carried you’
I shall still support and deliver you.” [Isaiah 46:3-4]
