“He regretted that He had made man on earth, and His heart
was grieved”
That seems hard to believe. How could God ever say He made
a mistake? Wasn’t it obvious throughout the story of the fall
of Adam and Eve these last few days, that He already had a plan of salvation? Did He regret making the man Adam?
Isn’t it funny how the story of the flood is seen as a children’s
story? It would be so frightening to see all your neighbors and
friends and acquaintances desperately begging to get into the ark. I don’t know which would be worse, this, or not being able to get into the ark yourself. And all this done by a loving God.
Were the people more evil then than they are now?
“Give to the Lord glory and praise”
I love these words so much. One of my most favorite parts of
mass is when everyone has to say, “it is right to give Him
thanks and praise”. Someday everyone in the world will have to say it and know it, and this is a foretaste of that.
“Guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod”
The apostles had only one loaf of bread. Some people have
only one loaf of spirituality. How many people have said they
left the church because the people weren’t friendly enough?
If this is you, then God is saying to you: bring friendliness to
My church! Don’t say “I don’t have enough, I’m just one person”
because Jesus will use what you have just as surely as He
fed the whole crowd with just a couple pieces of bread & fish.
This is the day of the 7 founders of the Order of Servites.
They were 7 men who saw a vision of Mary while praying,
and started their own Order. I read an account of them last
year, and noted that 2 of the 7 were married, and they left
their families to join this. This seems intrinsically wrong to
me, yet who am I to judge a saint?
