I really didn’t get the first reading… Who is the “other Jesus”? What is the “different
Spirit”? What is the “different gospel”? How were these things preached differently
to the Corinthians? Paul is still trying to convince the Corinthians that he does love
them, when all he had to do is just visit them! One day when my daughter was 3, she
was mad and said that I didn’t love her. I talked to her about nothing much for a
while, and she said, “I know you love me”. I said, “why do you know that I love you
now?” and she said, “because you’re here”.
A lot of people say they love the psalms the most. But today’s psalm is a good
example of why I don’t. Mostly they just babble on, and when they’re all done, what
have they really said?
Speaking of babbling, onto the gospel…
What strikes me is the last line:
“But if you do not forgive others,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”
If we are to be forgiven as we forgive others, then what if we forgave someone
halfway? I don’t think you can get to heaven by being forgiven halfway.
And how did Jesus forgive those who were killing Him? He asked God to forgive
them.
