So little about Jesus Ascension

I am struck by how the Ascension is handled in the scripture. For such a dramatic event; everything from the Apostles apparent calm unemotional acceptance of loosing Jesus again, to the two ‘men’ who sound more like policemen telling the crowd "nothing to see here, move along’.

And the interval between His rising again to His Ascension - not a specific word on his teachings during that time. Makes one think that the gnostics (with their emphasis on secret knowledge) might have been on to something.

Luke related to us pretty much everything about the ascension there was to tell. Jesus rose up and disappeared into the clouds. It probably all happened in just a few minutes. I don’t really see how it could have been stretched out any more.

Jesus made some of His most profound and important teachings between His reserruction and His ascension. Check these out: John 20:21-23; John 21:15-17; Mark 16:16; and Matthew 28:19-20.

The angels told the disciples something the whole world needs to hear: Acts 1:11 This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, so shall come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Jesus will return.

The Gnostics were not on to anything. They were a bunch of heretics.
