So many temptations

I am tempted to despair of God’s existence, to lust, and to many other grave sins. I have tried praying the rosary, saying three Hail Marys for purity, saying the Holy Name with devotion, and many other devotions. None of them work. Please pray for me.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I’ll be praying for you.

In times of temptation, a Priest gave me this prayer which I have found very powerfully helpful. Say it often, and know that when we resist the Devil, he will flee from us (James 4:7):

In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, I bind you Satan hand and foot, and cast you at the foot of the Cross, where our Lord Jesus Christ will deal with you as he sees fit.

Hang in there…perseverance will bring the victory and I know it is very hard and probably temptation to despair very great and temptation is no sin or fault or imperfection - simply temptation…Keeping you in prayer…
