We, as Catholics, believe that abortion is always an unacceptable matter. Perhaps the solution to the problem is to work in a Catholic hospital.
Freedom of choice must work both ways. If the law says that a woman does not have to continue a pregnancy, it must also say that no one can be forced to end a pregnancy whether it’s her own or someone else’s. I know how hard it is to stand up for what you believe is right, from personal experience. I also know the pain of failing to do it. Putting your trust in man instead of in God is always the wrong choice to make. Maybe they would have fired her and maybe she would have lost her license, but in the long run she would have known she did the right thing in spite of the consequences.
I think we should all pray for that nurse as well as the patient, because this action has irreparably damaged their lives.
