Tonight, I walked in the room while my younger sister was watching a new episode of Wendell & Vinnie titled “Mock Law & Order” on the Nickelodeon channel. To begin:
In the show one of the characters used the word sluttier. This is acceptable on a PG show!!! At the end of the show, a woman walks into the room and addresses Vinnie: “Come on Vinnie, let’s get out of here. I have reservations for dinner and dessert… and dessert.” She then proceeds to walk her fingers up from his navel to caress his cheek and jaw, while saying that she’s very attracted to him. She then leaves. When Vinnie’s sister questions the woman’s motives; Vinnie barks “Mind your own business!” laugh track plays and he follows. I guess this is par for the course these days?? Go Vinne, get some!! We applaud your pursuits of premarital sex! :banghead:
What morals are they instilling in children?? I understand that PG stands for Parental Guidance, but I had always thought of it as being G-rating with possible punching added in. Every day I am shocked at what the media holds up as normal, good, and acceptable. I guess I don’t “watch enough TV.” Perhaps, I’m becoming a bit of a curmudgeon in my old age 25.
Maybe it’s all the Masses I’ve been attending this past week. Is this what righteous anger feels like?
I’m praying that I find a wife who, along with other important qualities, won’t want cable/dish in the house.
I don’t think I’m overreacting, am I??
