Last Tuesday, my doctor told me that my tumor marker had dropped down to 35 (almost normal!) I did think it was odd (because my abdominal pain had been getting worse), but that gave me hope! I was in high spirits the past couple of days and it seemed like things were finally starting to look up.
Early this morning, I received a report from the lab, saying that my tumor marker in fact doubled to 176! So my cancer is still growing strong. It turned out that my doctor had the wrong information, and passed it along to me. So I had false hope, only to have it yanked from me. It hurts so much…
I wish I could know what God’s will is. If His will is that I won’t heal from this, I need the courage to accept it.

I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. I’m praying a novena to St. Therese as her feast day is coming up, and I will add you to the prayers. In the meantime, praying that God will give you inner strength, peace and courage in your time of need…

Strength for a Friend

Lord, I come before you today knowing that all power is in Your hand. I know that you are the Lord and that you care for your people. Right now, my friend is struggling with a difficult trial. I can see her strength is faltering, Lord, and know that you have all of the strength that she needs.

I pray that you will reach down and touch her right now wherever she is at this moment. Let your presence fill the room where she is and let her feel an extra portion of your strength that can help her to get through this day.

She needs you now, Lord, and I thank you in advance for meeting her where she is and shoring up her strength during this difficult time.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

You poor woman! I’m so very sorry to hear this, AM, and can’t imagine how you feel and the variety of emotions going through you. I would suggest going to a lawyer or at least consulting one to see what could be done regarding your irresponsible doctor and his equally irresponsible staff… This is not the first time I have heard this happening.

Please contact Abba who I’m sure will be able to help you deal with this better and also consider talking to your parish priest.

In the meantime, I will keep you in my prayers. :signofcross:
