Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Anthony(name removed by moderator)). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Anthony(name removed by moderator)'s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Act of Hope and Confidence in God

St. Claude de la Colombiere
:signofcross:
My God,
I believe most firmly that You watch over all who hope in You,
and that we can want for nothing when we rely upon You in all things.
Therefore I am resolved for the future…to cast all my cares upon You.
People may deprive me of worldly goods and status.
Sickness may take from me my strength and the means of serving You.
I may even jeopardize our relationship by sin, but my trust shall never leave me.
I will preserve it to the last moment of my life, and the powers of hell shall seek
…… in vain to grab it from me.
Let others seek happiness in their wealth and in their talents.
Let them trust in the purity of their lives,
the severity of their mortifications,
in the number of their good works,
the enthusiasm of their prayers,
as for me, my Rock and my Refuge, my confidence in you fills me with hope.
For You, my Divine Protector, alone have settled me in hope.
“This confidence can never be vain. No one, who has hoped in God, has
…… ever been confounded.”
I am assured, therefore, of my eternal happiness,
…… for I firmly hope in it and all my hope is in You.
“In You, O loving God, have I hoped: let me never be confounded.”
I know too well that I am weak and changeable. I know the power of
…… temptation against the strongest virtue.
I have seen stars fall and foundations of my world crack;
…… these things do not alarm me.
While I hope in You, I am sheltered from all misfortune,
…… and I am sure that my trust shall endure,
…… for I rely upon You to sustain this unfailing hope.
Finally, I know that my confidence cannot exceed Your generosity, and that I
…… shall never receive less than I have hoped for from You.
Therefore I hope that You will sustain me against my evil inclinations,
…… that You will protect me against the deceitful attacks of the evil one,
…… and that You will cause my weakness to triumph over every hostile force.
I hope that You will never cease to love me and that I shall love You unceasingly.
“In You, O loving God, have I hoped: let me never be confounded.”

St Claude de la Colombiere, pray for us!

Apology and Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and source of all goodness and love,
please look kindly upon us,
as we ask for forgiveness for not giving You thanks.
Please receive our heartfelt apology for the lack of gratitude.
Remind us at all times that You are always worthy of our thanks.

Thank You, Heavenly Father,

our faith and religious heritage;
the Priests who bring us the Sacraments;
our life, food and shelter;
our health, the love we have for one another;
our Police Officers and Firefighters who keep us safe;
our Soldiers and Veterans who fight and fought for our Country;
our family and friends.
Thank You for the people You so generously send us;
…everything You grant us
…and of which we are not even aware.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us the grace of having
…less “give me” and more gratitude throughout the coming
…years so that we may be aware that anything from You is good
…for You turn the “bad” into blessings for us.
Please Lord, grant us the grace of not forgetting that we can thank You

I’m on palliative treatment now, because my cancer is an incurable kind. There is nothing more the doctors can do.
Please pray for me as I’m in so much pain. I don’t know how much more of this I can stand. I’m so longing to go home to God now, but terrified of the transition, and how much more suffering I can endure.
Please pray for my courage and strength.
God bless all of you.

I’m on palliative treatment now, because my cancer is an incurable kind. There is nothing more the doctors can do.
I am working in the field of cancer therapy. I disagree with calling anyone’s cancer ‘incurable’ – rather, it’s something the doctors in your area don’t know how to cure, or possibly something the scientific community at large doesn’t know how to cure yet.

I encourage you to look into carbon ion radiation therapy at Gunma University. It is cancer therapy the United States is not yet delivering, and it is often more effective than the standard radiation therapy in the US in many ways. For example, radiating the primary disease site might induce an immune response such that your body gets rid of metastatic disease. (I don’t know whether your disease has yet spread to other body parts, but this might be a possible advantageous outcome if it has.)

Promising results have been obtained for cervical cancer. Regarding ovarian cancer, I’ve found one case study (I could search research literature to see if there’s been any more work published specifically regarding ovarian cancer if you’re interested):
Kumiko Karasawa in H. Tsujii et al. (eds.):
A 57-year-old female with recurrent ovarian cancer (adenocarcinoma) was treated with carbon ion. She had recurred multiple para-aortic lymph nodes and received chemotherapy, although the effect was SD. She [was] irradiated [with] 52.8 [Gy (RBE)] in 12 fractions [over a three week period] and has been living well without late adverse effect for 6 years.
I’ve edited it to clarify somewhat; I don’t know what she means by ‘SD’.

I’m not a doctor (but I’m presently studying under them), and I encourage you to look into this and discuss this therapy with your family and your doctor. If you do receive this therapy at this university, I may be able to help personally. (There is also a catholic church in the area! 😉 The pastor does not speak English, however.) I don’t know about payment, but if money should be a problem, there might be a way to enroll in a US clinical trial (perhaps with UT Southwestern or Stanford) and receive funding from the White House’s Cancer Moonshot initiative, or you might start a GoFundMe campaign to receive donations from friends and strangers.

Finally, the other reason not to call disease incurable is that God could be waiting to work a miracle, e.g. if you pray for the intercession of Fr. Michael McGivney, or of Sr. Miriam Teresa, or of some other venerable person, or even if you receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

I don’t want to give you false hope, because God may indeed be calling you Home. And of course, if this therapy would be an extraordinary effort, you’re not obligated to pursue it. I would not call your disease incurable, though.

I’ll pray for you.

I met a Lady (about 40 then, I guess) some 14 years ago who had just been placed on “palliative care” for the cancer and was “given” four months to live. She is very active in her parish where she lives and is doing well.
