…I went out last night (Wednesday) to get my dad some lottery tickets. I came back and that was that. It was around 5:30 PM or 6.

Well, tonight, I go out to my car (about 24 hours later) and the door is dented to hell. Someone backed into it, and didn’t leave a card, or a note at all.

Hit and run…wonderful.

Well, the driveway it came out of was a neighbor’s (obviously) and she said “oh, I thought I saw it like that the other day” …‘No’…my dad answers…‘Because he is obsessed with his car and he would have noticed that’
This is true…So she keeps making excuses, “I’ve always thought that wasn’t a good place to park” blah blah

She’s a shrink, apparently. Or a counselor. And she has people over there all the time. But she “doesn’t know anything about it”. The scratches on my car are white, and she knows nothign about any white cares being there.

I thought about it, and it looks like it was a truck or SUV, since the bumper-shaped dent is too high for a simple sedan. The angle of the dent is somewhat like a nike swoosh, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE for it to be from anywhere other than someone coming out of her driveway. The scratches taper …thin on the left, and thick on the right (Towards the deeper part of the dent) Does this mean it come from the right or the left?
Either way…my dad doubts we’ll find out who did it…And that means we’ll have to pay for it…And the person gets away with it!
Despite the police report we’ll be filing.
Wonderful…I love when justice is served!

I can figure it out on my own!!
ugh…

i’m sorry to hear about your car.
pray about it! maybe you should pray to St. Rita, patron of lost causes for help.
pray for honesty from your neighbor and/or humility and patience for yourself to deal with it and move on.
whenever i struggle with something i stop and think, “well Jesus went through a heck of a lot more than this!” and i move on.
hope this helps. 🙂

…Jesus didn’t have a Mustang…😦

No, he didn’t. However, disturbing as it may be, it is only a piece of machinery. It still works, right?

Perhaps you are a bit too attached to material things.

Hi Belgarion, I have had this happen to me before. A car backed into me in a dorm parking lot at college and smashed my bumper and headlight. Also a hit and run.

The good thing is that your car insurance should pick up the slack, if you have good insurance. I remember on my old insurance the deductible for a “hit and run” was only $200. Just make sure the police report gets filed because they will need that.

*Sorry to hear that Belgarion…most insurance companies, depending on the state of course, look at it as falling under your collision deductible…and it shouldn’t go against your record, but it will probably cost you to fix it.

JoanM–That was not a very nice thing to say to Belgarion. 😦 Nothing wrong with being a little upset that someone hit his car, and didn’t have the decency to leave a note. If they did that much damage, I’m sure they ‘felt’ hitting his car. I think it’s wrong to be attached to things certainly, but I don’t get that sense with this thread. While he can still drive the car, he takes care of the car, and it’s disappointing to have someone hit it, and not even own up to it. That doesn’t make him materialistic. *

Well, my parents called the police and made sure they reported it…but of course they won’t do anything…perfect.

And they talked to the insurance dude, but I don’t think they told me what he said. We’ll have to take it into a shop to see how much it’ll cost…wonderful…

Thanks whatevergirl, I appreciate the defense.

The thing is, I’ve wanted THAT car since I was REALLY little. Oddly enough…before it even came out…lol
I remember being in CA saying “I want a green mustang!” and this was in 1995…before the ‘97 mustang came out! Same style that I wanted, too.
So I’m attached to the car…since it was my grandparents’ car…my dad bought it from them, used it himself for years…then GAVE it to me when he got his Mercedes-Benz S600. So not only am I grateful for the car, I have a strong nostalgic attachment.

And now someone just runs into it, and doesn’t even have the decency to take responsibility…In this town, if that person would have GOTTEN hit himself…He would be freaking out and demanding justice…Hypocrites…

Could always be worse - you still have the Mustang. Thanks to the IRS (and the punishment our tax code levels on the self-employed) I had to sell my '66 coupe that I spent over 3 years restoring for an absolute pittance. Heartbreaking to watch all that blood, sweat, tears and money roll out of my driveway last week - I even had it in my will that it would go to my oldest son.

Cheer up, get 'er fixed and drive the heck out of it!

I feel your pain. When I was younger I had a 69 Mustang that I loved and my brother took it out one night when I was on a date and he totaled it. Didn’t talk to him for a long time after that.

OW!!
My mustang is nowhere near the classic that those are…After all, its a '97…Wow that must have hurt!!
At least someone was accountable in those situations.
For me, (if you excuse the expression) I feel kind of violated…lol…because no one is taking responsibility.

I’m quite sorry about your cars…that’s very sad. I can imagine just how painful that’d be.

So, did you miss his tasteless comments about Jesus not having a mustang, or having a camel back into his donkey?

I found his remarks extremely offensive. Yes, it’s upsetting that someone hit his car and didn’t leave a note. However, those remarks of his were way off base.

Regardless of what anyone says about what Jesus drove or anything like that, the bottom line is this poor fellow soilder in Christ had a terrible day, and a terrible thing happend to him.

Here is a cyber beer for you. Sorry abnout the car man.

Wow, someone is humorless. Did Jesus have a mustang? Did someone back their camel into his donkey? No. That’s what I said, was it not? I said what I said to cheer myself up, and are they’re not “offensive” in the least bit.

Thanks a bunch!..but I’m only 20…Can’t drink it 😉
😃

*:rotfl: No matter what the topic, if you started the thread Belgarion, there must be controversy. 😃

I am sorry that happened to your car. It stinks that they didn’t at least leave a note…*

Yep…I wonder why…😃

Ah, its alright…Not really…but I AM alright…lol
However, (if I haven’t mentioned this already) the neighbor lady is cooperating now. She said she’s going to ask her clients about it. I don’t feel AS bad because she’s at least trying. But I doubt anything is going to come out of it.
I’m keeping an eye out for a car with a green bumper…

Belgarion, your age explains it! Perhaps when you mature a bit more you will realize that there is no humor in making those kind of remarks about your Lord and God, no matter how upset you are. And - they most definitely are tasteless and offensive.

I have plenty of humor, just not that kind.

You don’t have plenty of humor, or you would have laughed about this. I’m sure our Lord and Savior had a sense of humor as well. He was fully human, and fully divine.

Give him a break.

Well, perhaps you should know me before you judge me. I’m 20 years old, and more mature than many my age.

Am I INSULTING Jesus by saying he didn’t have a Mustang?
Am I INSULTING Jesus by saying that no one backed their camel into his donkey?

No. Because I’m making a humorous remark based on fact.

NOt tasteless, not offensive.
