This is my new screenname. I have put away the old screenname- AtticusFinch. I used Atticus because reading To Kill a Mockingbird is what made me decide to become an attorney.

I had a talk with my Priest about this board and he suggested I be a little less like Peter, charging in with a sword, and a little more like one of my Patron Saints- Sir Thomas More. So, I am taking his advice.

The Admins suggested I keep a Holy Card of Thomas More taped to my computer 🙂

Look, I know I come across combative. I frankly do not see it when I do it because in my profession (an adversarial profession) another attorney and I can go after each other like angry dogs in the courtroom and when we break for lunch, he and I will go across the street and eat lunch and laugh about what we said. I was also a city councilman and it was the same…we would have heated discussions in a council meeting and go have a soda afterwards (I don’t drink alcohol).

What I am saying is, I apologize for coming across strong…there was never any bad intent. The only person I have actually had a problem with was someone here who called me liar when I claimed to have served an LDS mission, and when I posted proof, he refused to apologize.

Anyway, I will continue to debate. If I offend you, please let me know and I will fix it. It will not be my intent to hurt anyone.

You have picked a wonderful saint/lawyer as your new screenname.

Thanks for reminding me of the importance of being charitable. I look to St. Francis of Assisi as a model of humble servitude but fall short daily (hourly, actually).
