I am pretty certain that Jesus did not appear with the characteristics of a northern European, contrary to many of the popular images that we have grown up with.

When I feel the need to expand on that idea, I sometimes suggest that people try to imagine Jesus looking like a thirty-something Yasser Arafat. That is probably closer to reality than the widely-seen Salmann paintings.

It doesn’t matter. Was Jesus tall or short? Right-handed or left-handed? Those don’t matter either.
Paul
You mean IS
Jesus lived in Israel and looked the same as any other Israelite, so his skin was probably light brown.
You mean IS
OLIVE SKIN MAKES GOOD KIN!

Most probably Christ was the same color as Iraqis and Jordanians are today.

I have no issue with an ethnic group depciting Jesus in their own eyes…as long as they don’t INSIST Jesus was such and such.

Aw, shoot. Somebody beat me to it. Strawberry blonde hair, blue or green eyes, freckles. Jesus was a Celt. All we Irish types know this and we’ve got the artwork to prove it! 😃

Soooo… Jesus **looked **like Doc Savage?
LOOKS

**Here is how John describes Him!**The hair on his head is white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes like blazing fire. His feet like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice is like the sound of rushing waters His face is like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

Hi

Jesus was maximum 33 when the event of Crucifixion took place, and at such a young age there is no question of Jesus having white hair.We believe that Jesus escaped killing on Cross and went to India where according to some tradition he died at the age of 120 years, only then Jesus’ hairs could be white. I think John did not go to India to see him in his old age. But one never knows - - - - -.

Thanks

Shall i assume your muslim?

My description is from the Revelation of Jesus Christ in THE book.

Can I ask a question, do you believe you are children of the God of Abraham?

White.

Can’t have been African, can He? Last I checked Judea is in the Levant.

On the other hand though, He didn’t have to be small. Ron Perlman’s Jewish, I believe, and he’s huge–the man was type-cast for Hellboy!

I like to think that Jesus was of ALL races-- thoroughly mixed. After all, Israel was the most criss-crossed area of the world. Therefore, everyone has the right to portray Him as they want. 😉

How did a Jewish priestly male chromosome come to be found in a black, Bantu-speaking people that looks very much like its southern African neighbors?

After conducting these tests, it was revealed that of all the people who claimed to be Cohanim, slightly over fifty percent had the DNA mark. None of the non-Jews who participated had the mark. Of all the Jews, slightly under ten percent had the mark, supporting the Jewish belief that only ten percent of the population were descendants of Aaron. Surprisingly, among the leaders of the Lemba tribe, fifty percent had the mark and ten percent of all the Lemba had the mark as well.

Hi

Yes, I am an Ahmadi - a peaceful faith in Islam.

I respect your faith, while remaining steadfast on my faith, till somebody convinces me heart and soul that I am worng.

Perhaps I am not physically a child of Muhammad or Jesus or Moses or Abraham; yet I am a true follower of them. If the account of the above truthful ProphetsMessengers has not been mentioned correctly by the NTBible or OTBible, I need not believe that, I believe what was truthflly revealed from GodAllahYHWH’s mouth on them.

Thanks

Here is how the Quran tells you to treat “the book”

We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them (3:84 AYA).

RIGHT?

Well here is what “the book” says about Jesus Christ.
John 8:12 (King James Version)

biblegateway.com/bg_versions/bgclick.php?what=34

12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,** I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.**

When things get tough in your life lean your trust on Him (Jesus the Christ) and He will show you that He is in fact the LIGHT of the world.

And to tie this in to the OP, Christ color is “the LIGHT” like the transfiguration and like John saw in the Revelation

Hi

No, you got it wrong:
  1. Quran does not refer to John 8:12
  2. Quran have mentioned essential life account of the Prophets in its own chapters to which it refers
  3. There are no books of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes in the NTBible; hence the verses don’t refer to NTBible.
  4. In the very next verse Quran says that the Religion acceptable to GodAllahYHWH after the advent of Muhammad is only Islam, all other religions have therefore become redundant.
    I quote the verses 3:82-86
[3:82] And remember the time when Allah took a covenant from the people through the Prophets, saying, ‘Whatever I give you of the Book and Wisdom and then there comes to you a Messenger, fulfilling that which is with you, you shall believe in him and help him.’ And He said, ‘Do you agree, and do you accept the responsibility which I lay upon you in this matter?’ They said, ‘We agree.’ He said, ‘Then bear witness and I am with you among the witnesses.’
[3:83] Now whoso turns away after this, then, surely, those are the transgressors.
[3:84] Do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, while to Him submits whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him shall they all be returned? **
[3:85] Say, ‘We believe in Allah and that which has been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and in that which was given to Moses and Jesus and other Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and to Him we submit.’
[3:86] And whoso seeks a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted of him, and, in the Hereafter he shall be among the losers.**

Thanks

There are White Africans… just like there are Blacks in pretty much every other continent.

You missed his point. If the Quran says that the Bible is revealed by God then John 8:12 is true.
exactly…Otherwise the Quran would have to be considered fallible. So you must admit Jesus Christ IS the light of the world! Pray now that he fills your heart with the truth that is HIM? Just ask HIM! He’ll show you the way to His truth.

Jesus was a Hebrew, he was born to Mary who was also a Hebrew, and they both looked like the other Hebrews… Probably really tan, with dark features like most of the Middle-Eastern people of today. 🙂

Precisely!

(What I should have asked before was: what difference does it make? - although I do not agree with representations that show Christ with this lemon yellow hair and alabaster skin… same for Mary)

Hi

The truthful Prophet Muhammad Khatamun Nabiyyeen has mentioned two complexions/featured of Jesus as if it were features of two different persons, one for the Jesus s/o Mary in his first coming, and the second for symbolic Jesus who would be **Second Coming **of Jesus in the form of PromisedMessiah 1835-1908, as one person cannot have two complexions/features:

1.Narrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet said, “I saw Moses, Jesus and Abraham (on the night of my Ascension to the heavens). Jesus was of red complexion, curly hair and a broad chest. Moses was of brown complexion, straight hair and tall stature as if he was from the people of Az-Zutt.” Bukhari (Book #55, Hadith #648)

2.Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet mentioned the Massiah Ad-Dajjal in front of the people saying, Allah is not one eyed while Messsiah, Ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye and his eye looks like a bulging out grape. **While sleeping near the Ka’ba last night, I saw in my dream a man of brown color the best one can see amongst brown color and his hair was long that it fell between his shoulders. His hair was lank and water was dribbling from his head and he was placing his hands on the shoulders of two men while circumambulating the Kaba. I asked, ‘Who is this?’ They replied, ‘This is Jesus, son of Mary.’ *Behind him I saw a man who had very curly hair and was blind in the right eye, resembling Ibn Qatan (i.e. an infidel) in appearance. He was placing his hands on the shoulders of a person while performing Tawaf around the Ka’ba. I asked, 'Who is this? 'They replied, 'The Masih, Ad-Dajjal.’ " Bukhari (Book #55, Hadith #649)

So are you saying that your source can’t possibly be right?

I would have to agree with that.
